Introduction

Joju-u-u Shrine is a Shrine of Light in the southern part of Hyrule’s West Necluda region. Its official trial is called Building Bridges, and the entire challenge is built around using Ultrahand to reconnect sections of hanging bridge. The shrine stands on fallen sky debris at Ubota Point, high above Lakeside Stable. It is also directly associated with the U-u-ujoj Lightroot in the Depths.

This is a compact, non-combat shrine. Its difficulty comes from recognising that the bridge sections must be attached at specific points, rather than simply joining every available piece into one long bridge.

Location and boundaries

Joju-u-u Shrine is not a broad settlement or regional subarea. The location covered by this guide is limited to:

It does not include Lakeside Stable, West Necluda as a whole, the nearby Faron countryside, Lurelin Village, or the Depths below the shrine. Those are neighbouring or connected locations rather than parts of Joju-u-u Shrine itself.

Nearby connections

The shrine is positioned above Lakeside Stable and can be reached from the Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower by gliding south-west. It is also west of Lurelin Village, although Lurelin is not part of the shrine complex.

Reaching Joju-u-u Shrine

From Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower

This is the most convenient aerial approach.

A direct glide may not take Link all the way to the shrine, so be prepared to land at the cliff and continue upwards. GameWith specifically recommends using the cliff near Lakeside Stable, then ascending through the rock formation to the shrine.

From Lakeside Stable

Lakeside Stable is the clearest ground-level landmark.

The shrine is visible from the surrounding area, but its height can make a normal climb inefficient. The approach is intended to combine climbing, Ascend and, if necessary, a short glide from a higher point.

From Lurelin Village

Joju-u-u Shrine lies to the west of Lurelin Village. This route is possible, but it is a longer overland journey than approaching from Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower or Lakeside Stable.

---

From Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower

  1. 01
Launch from Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower.
  2. 02
    Glide south-west towards Lakeside Stable.
  3. 03
Look for the high cliff and large fallen-debris formation overlooking the stable.
  4. 04
Reach the cliff below the shrine.
  5. 05
Use Ascend through suitable overhangs and hollows in the rock to climb towards the shrine platform.
  6. 06
Activate Joju-u-u Shrine when you reach the entrance.

Shrine layout and puzzle logic

The trial uses several suspended bridge sections. Some are already connected, while others have fallen away from the far side. Link must use Ultrahand to attach a bridge section to a distant anchor point or to a stone block that acts as a counterweight.

The central lesson is that the correct bridge piece is not always the nearest one. A bridge can be attached successfully but still sit too low to reach the next platform. If that happens, detach the piece and try a different section.

There are no enemies or combat encounters in the trial. The challenge is entirely environmental and uses the Ultrahand ability learned early in the game.

Walkthrough: Building Bridges

1. Cross the opening bridge

The first bridge is already usable. Cross it to reach the first broken section.

This opening bridge acts as a visual example of the shape and height required for the later repairs.

2. Repair the first broken bridge

After crossing the opening section, look down for the detached bridge plates.

The first repair is relatively straightforward. The important point is to attach an end section, rather than trying to lift and reposition the entire bridge.

3. Choose the correct section for the second bridge

The next bridge is longer and has several possible attachment points.

Using one of the nearer pieces may create a connection, but the bridge will hang too low for Link to reach the next ledge. The third piece provides the necessary height and angle.

4. Build the counterweighted bridge

The third repair is the shrine’s most distinctive section.

The stone box functions as a counterweight. If the bridge is too slack, it will hang too low. Adjust the position until the bridge rises high enough for Link to cross. Destructoid describes the successful arrangement as leaving at least two bridge pieces hanging over the far side.

5. Cross the final bridge

The final bridge is already positioned well enough to reach the shrine’s goal. Cross it to complete the trial.

Before leaving, however, stop and collect the optional treasure chest.

---

2. Repair the first broken bridge

  1. 01
Select one of the appropriate end sections with Ultrahand.
  2. 02
Attach it to the far side of the broken bridge.
  3. 03
Make sure the connection is high and stable enough for Link to walk across.
  4. 04
    Cross to the next platform.

3. Choose the correct section for the second bridge

  1. 01
    Examine the loose plates.
  2. 02
Select the third piece from the end rather than one of the first two.
  3. 03
Attach it to the far side.
  4. 04
    Cross the raised bridge.

4. Build the counterweighted bridge

  1. 01
Continue beyond the intact bridge until you reach the next broken span.
  2. 02
Locate the large stone box near the ramp and the loose bridge plates.
  3. 03
Use Ultrahand to move the stone box to the bridge.
  4. 04
Attach the stone box to the end of the bridge.
  5. 05
Drag the bridge over the supporting pole.
  6. 06
Pull the bridge as taut as possible.
  7. 07
Leave enough bridge sections hanging on the far side to create a walkable route.
  8. 08
    Cross to the next area.

Treasure chest: Large Zonaite

The chest is on a raised platform beside the final bridge. It is not directly reachable from the normal route.

The bridge does not need to be perfectly aligned. A rough attachment is normally enough for Link to hop onto the platform. The chest is fixed shrine treasure, not a random drop.

Shrine inventory

To collect it

  1. 01
Find the bridge plate positioned near the middle of the final bridge.
  2. 02
    Pick it up with Ultrahand.
  3. 03
Attach it to the bridge section leading towards the chest platform.
  4. 04
Use the resulting extension as a short ramp or climbing route.
  5. 05
Jump or climb onto the raised platform.
  6. 06
Open the chest to receive Large Zonaite.

Completion reward

After crossing the final bridge, enter the altar chamber and examine the shrine’s statues to complete Joju-u-u Shrine. The reward is one Light of Blessing.

Four Lights of Blessing can be exchanged at a Goddess Statue for either a Heart Container or a Stamina Vessel. That exchange is a general Tears of the Kingdom progression system, not a special feature of Joju-u-u Shrine.

Once activated, the shrine also becomes a fast-travel point.

Facilities, NPCs and enemies

Joju-u-u Shrine has no shop, stable service, inn, crafting station, named resident or ordinary NPC. Lakeside Stable is nearby, but its services belong to the stable rather than to the shrine.

Verified directory

There is no boss fight and no combat trial. The shrine is a pure Ultrahand puzzle.

Depths connection

Joju-u-u Shrine corresponds to U-u-ujoj Lightroot in the Depths. This is a vertical map relationship between the surface shrine and the Depths facility, not an indication that the Lightroot is part of the shrine interior. The two locations must be treated as separate destinations in the game’s layered map.

This relationship can be useful when mapping the area: discovering one location helps identify the approximate position of the other, although reaching the Lightroot still requires a separate Depths route.

Practical checklist

Common problems

The bridge connects but is too low

You have probably selected the wrong bridge section. On the longer early bridge, use the third piece from the end rather than one of the first two.

The counterweighted bridge will not rise

Move the stone box farther over the opposite side or pull the bridge tighter around the pole. The bridge needs enough tension and hanging length to form a usable slope.

I crossed the shrine but missed the chest

The chest is beside the final bridge, not on the direct route. Use one of the central bridge plates to create an extension towards the raised platform, then jump across.

Is a quest required?

No separate quest requirement is reported for entering or completing Joju-u-u Shrine. The main requirement is access to the location and use of Ultrahand.
