Key takeaways

  • The tower is in the larger Rabella Wetlands area, within East Necluda and the Faron region.
  • The rain around the tower is effectively part of the puzzle Waiting does not provide a reliable solution.
  • Burn the outer thorn barriers under existing cover before dealing with the entrance.
  • Build a long wooden canopy with Ultrahand and position it between the two supports beside the entrance.
  • Fire Fruit is the simplest ignition method, but other fire-producing materials work.
  • Activating the tower reveals the surrounding map and adds the tower as a fast-travel point.

About this guide

Scope note: Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower is a discrete landmark inside the larger Rabella Wetlands region. The tower compound is covered here. The wider wetlands, Lurelin Village, nearby caves, shrines and the surrounding Faron and East Necluda routes are neighbouring locations, not subareas of the tower itself.

Introduction

Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower is one of the more memorable Skyview Tower challenges in Tears of the Kingdom. The tower stands in a wet, wooded area where rain continues without interruption. Thorn bushes surround the compound and block both the approach and the entrance. Fire would normally remove them, but the rain extinguishes exposed flames.

The solution is not to wait for better weather. Instead, Link must use the construction materials beside the tower to make temporary shelter over the thorns, then burn them while they are protected from the rain. Once the entrance is clear, the terminal can be activated normally.

Location and boundaries

The tower is in the south-eastern part of Hyrule, south-west of Hateno Village and north-west of Lurelin Village. It is also associated with the Faron side of the East Necluda region. From a distance, it can be difficult to approach directly because Mount Floria and other high ground obstruct long glides and lines of sight.

For this guide, Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower includes:

It does not include the whole Rabella Wetlands region. Lurelin Village, Lakeside Stable, nearby caves, shrines, Mount Floria and the wider Faron Grasslands are separate locations, even though the tower is useful for reaching them.

The last five entries are neighbouring or connected places rather than internal parts of the tower compound.

Reaching the tower

There are several practical approaches.

From Hateno Village

Travel south-west from Hateno Village towards the wetlands. The route becomes more difficult as the land rises and the tower’s surrounding mountains interfere with a direct glide. If the Popla Foothills or Sahasra Slope Skyview Towers are already active, launching from one of them can make it easier to identify the destination, although a single glide may not carry Link all the way to the compound.

From the Faron side

A ground route through the Faron Grasslands and past Lakeside Stable is a dependable option. Continue towards the wetlands, then head north around Temto Hill according to the local terrain. This approach avoids relying entirely on a long glide.

From higher ground

Mount Floria and nearby elevated terrain provide useful launch points. Reaching a ridge west of the tower and gliding across can be quicker than forcing a route through the wetland floor. Be careful not to assume that every visible slope provides a clean landing. The region’s hills can place Link below the tower or behind the surrounding thorn barriers.

Tower compound and environmental puzzle

The immediate compound has two stages.

First, thorn bushes block parts of the outer approach. Some of these thorns are positioned beneath wooden scaffolding or other natural cover. Burn these protected sections first. A Fire Fruit thrown at the thorns is the most economical method, though fire from other suitable materials can also work.

After entering the outer area, Link reaches the main door. More thorns cover the entrance, but this set is exposed to the rain. Fire will fail unless Link first creates a roof.

Beside the entrance are construction materials and supports on either side of the doorway. These are the important puzzle objects in the compound. The available planks can be joined with Ultrahand to form a long, flat canopy. The canopy does not need to be a perfect building. It only needs to cover the thorn bushes sufficiently to keep the rain off them.

Walkthrough: activating Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower

  1. 01
Approach the outer thorn ring. Avoid walking directly through the thorns where possible. They damage Link on contact.

Walkthrough: activating Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower

  1. 01
Look for the covered thorn section. Start with the bushes protected by scaffolding or a roof-like structure. Ignite them with Fire Fruit, another fire-emitting item, or a fire made from Flint and wood.

Walkthrough: activating Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower

  1. 01
Enter the cleared compound. Once the first barrier has burned away, move towards the tower entrance.

Walkthrough: activating Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower

  1. 01
Collect the wooden planks. The construction materials are placed near the entrance. Select several of the larger boards.

Walkthrough: activating Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower

  1. 01
Join the boards with Ultrahand. Attach them end to end to make one long platform or roof. Three large planks are generally enough for a practical canopy, although additional pieces can be used if the roof does not cover the thorns properly.

Walkthrough: activating Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower

  1. 01
Place the canopy across the entrance. Rest one end on the scaffolding or support on one side of the doorway and the other end on the opposite side. The structure must sit above the thorn bushes rather than directly on them.

Walkthrough: activating Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower

  1. 01
Check the shelter before igniting. If rain is still visibly reaching the thorns, adjust the canopy. A roof that is too high, too short or badly angled may leave enough of the bushes exposed for the fire to go out.

Walkthrough: activating Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower

  1. 01
Burn the entrance thorns. Throw a Fire Fruit at the bushes or use another fire-producing item. The wooden canopy should shield the flames from the rain.

Walkthrough: activating Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower

  1. 01
Enter the tower. Once the thorns disappear, walk through the doorway and activate the Skyview Tower terminal.

Walkthrough: activating Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower

  1. 01
Use the launch platform. The tower launches Link into the air, records the surrounding map data and unlocks the tower as a fast-travel destination.

Materials and methods

Nintendo Life and PowerPyx both describe the construction-and-fire solution, while Zelda Dungeon Wiki records the location’s thorn barrier, rain and nearby construction materials.

Materials and methods

Materials and methods
MethodWhere it is usefulNotes
Fire FruitOuter and entrance thornsThe simplest option if Link has a supply
Red Chuchu JellyBurning thornsA fire-producing material confirmed by guide sources
RubyBurning thornsCan provide fire but may be unnecessarily valuable
Flint and woodMaking a campfireThe rain still requires the flame to be sheltered
Ultrahand canopyEntrance puzzleRequired to protect the exposed thorns from rain
AscendPossible approach alternativeSome guides identify nearby scaffolding or structures that can support an Ascend route, but the canopy-and-fire solution remains the most consistent method

Services and progression

Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower has no shop, inn, stable service or ordinary named resident attached to the compound. Its functional purpose is exploration infrastructure:

The tower is not locked behind a main quest in the same way as the early Lookout Landing progression sequence. It can generally be attempted when Link reaches the area and has access to the necessary tools and materials. The exact ease of the approach depends on the player’s current stamina, paraglider access, map coverage and travel network.

Items, enemies and collectibles

The tower compound’s verified, location-specific content is limited.

Fixed environmental resources

The planks are puzzle materials rather than a shop inventory or a permanent reward. The compound is not documented as having a unique chest, shrine, boss or named collectible belonging specifically to the tower.

Enemies

No dedicated boss or fixed enemy encounter is verified as part of the immediate tower compound in the sources consulted. Enemies may appear on the surrounding route or in the wider wetlands, but those encounters should not be treated as tower content without a more precise location boundary.

Nearby connections

The tower is especially useful as a launch point for exploring south-eastern Hyrule. From the air, Link can scout routes towards the East Necluda coast, Faron’s southern approaches and the wider area around Lurelin Village. It can also be used as a convenient fast-travel point when returning to the region after visiting Hateno or the Faron Grasslands.

The exact usefulness of the launch varies with stamina upgrades, temporary stamina effects, wind, altitude and the destination’s height. The tower reveals the map, but it does not guarantee that every nearby location can be reached in one glide.

These are connections, not internal subareas

Lore and series context

Skyview Towers are a Tears of the Kingdom exploration system rather than a direct continuation of the tower network from Breath of the Wild. Their role is to survey Hyrule and launch Link into the air, replacing the earlier game’s tower-climbing map system with a mixture of environmental puzzles and aerial traversal.

Rabella Wetlands’ challenge reflects one of *Tears of the Kingdom*’s central design ideas: the player is expected to combine an ability with nearby materials instead of searching for a single key item. The tower’s rain is not merely scenery. It changes how fire works and encourages Link to construct a solution from the supplied planks.
