Key takeaways

  • Igashuk Shrine is inside Lomei Labyrinth Island, not on the nearby mainland or in the sky labyrinth.
  • Its trial is Rauru’s Blessing, so the main puzzle is outside the shrine.
  • The safest intended route follows acorns and other small markers through the maze.
  • A quicker route uses the island’s walls, logs and Ascend to reach the central chamber with much less backtracking.
  • The shrine chest contains a Large Zonai Charge Completing the shrine grants a Light of Blessing.
  • The island is the surface stage of the wider Lomei Labyrinth Island Prophecy sequence. The sky and Depths labyrinths are separate subareas, with separate challenges and rewards.

Note

This guide covers the Igashuk Shrine and the connected surface area required to reach it: Lomei Labyrinth Island in the Akkala Sea. It does not treat the separate Lomei Sky Labyrinth or Lomei Depths Labyrinth as parts of the shrine itself, although both are directly connected to the island’s wider quest and progression sequence.

Overview

Game: The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Mode: Base game Region: Akkala Local area: Lomei Labyrinth Island Shrine trial: Rauru’s Blessing Approximate coordinates: 4654, 3712, 0131 Reward: Large Zonai Charge and Light of Blessing Nearest major launch point: Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower Related side adventure: Lomei Labyrinth Island Prophecy

Igashuk Shrine is a blessing shrine hidden in the central chamber of Lomei Labyrinth Island, the large maze in the far north-east of Hyrule. The shrine itself contains no internal puzzle. The challenge is reaching the shrine through the island’s maze, either by following the trail of acorns and other natural markers or by using climbing, Ascend and gliding to bypass much of the conventional route.

Location and boundaries

Igashuk Shrine is located in the centre of Lomei Labyrinth Island, a square maze structure in the Akkala Sea, north-east of the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab. The island is part of the Akkala region, although the shrine’s immediate setting is an isolated offshore ruin rather than a conventional mainland settlement.

For navigation purposes, it is useful to separate the location into three connected but distinct areas:

Igashuk Shrine

This is the actual interior shrine. It is a short blessing chamber containing one treasure chest and the shrine’s completion sigil. There is no combat encounter or puzzle inside.

Lomei Labyrinth Island

This is the surface maze surrounding the shrine. Reaching its central chamber is the practical requirement for unlocking Igashuk Shrine. The island contains maze corridors, high walls, ladders, climbable surfaces, chests and weapon pickups.

Lomei Sky Labyrinth and Lomei Depths Labyrinth

These are separate areas above and below the island. They belong to the same multi-stage Lomei challenge, but they are not rooms or subareas of Igashuk Shrine. In Tears of the Kingdom, progression normally proceeds from the surface labyrinth to the sky labyrinth and then to the Depths. The later stages lead to a Flux Construct battle and the Evil Spirit armour quest sequence.

Verified named locations within the connected scope

The last three entries are relevant to the broader Lomei progression rather than being part of the shrine interior itself. Mogisari Shrine is associated with the sky stage, while Kuhsagi Lightroot corresponds to the shrine’s position in the Depths.

Recommended starting points

The most practical mainland starting point is Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower. Launch from the tower and glide north-east towards the visible labyrinth. Depending on stamina, weather and equipment, Link may need to land on the mainland or use a Zonai vehicle to complete the journey.

Another useful route begins around the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab. The cliffs behind the lab provide a high take-off point for gliding towards the island. This route is especially convenient if Link has already activated a nearby shrine or is exploring northern Akkala.

Suggested preparation

The route does not require a special quest item, but the following make the journey more comfortable:

---

There are two broad approaches: the intended marker-following route and the structural shortcut.

Route A: follow the markers

The maze contains a series of small markers, including acorns and other natural objects, which point towards the central chamber. Following them provides a reliable route without needing a full map. The main danger is losing the trail at junctions or accidentally doubling back through visually similar corridors.

Step-by-step

This method is slower than a direct Ascend route but is the least likely to require repeated trial and error.

Step-by-step

  1. 01
Land at the island’s southern entrance.
  2. 02
Enter the surface maze and look for the first acorn or natural marker.
  3. 03
Continue from marker to marker rather than choosing the most open-looking corridor.
  4. 04
Use ladders when the path changes elevation.
  5. 05
Check corners and dead ends carefully. Some routes appear to stop but continue through a ladder, ledge or narrow side passage.
  6. 06
When the path reaches the upper or inner part of the maze, continue following the markers towards the central structure.
  7. 07
Climb the final ladder or ledges into the central shrine chamber.
  8. 08
Activate Igashuk Shrine before leaving the room.

Route B: use logs and Ascend

A quicker route can be made by exploiting the maze’s vertical layout. A commonly used path involves reaching a dead-end area containing logs and a gloom-covered wall, then positioning the logs so that Link can climb and use Ascend to pass through the roof layers.

Step-by-step shortcut

This approach is efficient, but the Ascend indicator can be difficult to position correctly. If the indicator remains red, move a short distance rather than repeatedly jumping in place. The maze has multiple floors and ceiling layers, so a valid Ascend point may be directly above Link but separated by a sloped or obstructed section.

Step-by-step shortcut

  1. 01
Enter the labyrinth and move towards the rear of the initial passage.
  2. 02
Look for the area with several logs and a gloom-covered wall.
  3. 03
Use Ultrahand to place the logs against the wall or in a position that gives Link enough height to climb.
  4. 04
    Climb onto the logs.
  5. 05
    Use Ascend through the ceiling.
  6. 06
At the next level, use Ascend again where the indicator turns green.
  7. 07
Move around the upper maze until you reach a position above the central route.
  8. 08
Drop or glide into the inner corridor.
  9. 09
Climb the small ledges near the gloom-covered sections.
  10. 10
Use Ascend through the final roof layer to emerge near the central staircase.
  11. 11
Follow the steps into the shrine chamber.

Navigation advice

Shrine interior

Igashuk Shrine is a Rauru’s Blessing shrine. The challenge is considered complete when Link reaches the shrine itself.

There is no puzzle room, combat room or separate terminal sequence inside Igashuk Shrine. The shrine also becomes a fast-travel point once activated.

Shrine inventory

The Large Zonai Charge is particularly useful for temporarily restoring or extending Link’s Zonai battery when operating Zonai devices. It is not the same thing as a permanent Energy Cell upgrade.

---

Shrine interior: steps

  1. 01
    Enter the shrine.
  2. 02
Open the treasure chest directly ahead.
  3. 03
    Collect the Large Zonai Charge.
  4. 04
Walk to the green shrine sigil.
  5. 05
Examine it to receive the Light of Blessing.

Lomei Labyrinth Island Prophecy

The island is also the starting point for Lomei Labyrinth Island Prophecy, a side adventure that continues above and below the surface maze. The shrine is therefore both an immediate reward for crossing the island and a useful checkpoint for the wider Lomei sequence.

The shrine should be activated before beginning the sky section. This provides a convenient return point if Link needs to restock, change equipment or build a flying machine.

The broad progression is

  1. 01
Reach the central area of Lomei Labyrinth Island.
  2. 02
Activate or investigate the ancient device associated with the island’s prophecy.
  3. 03
Travel to the Lomei Sky Labyrinth.
  4. 04
Activate the four terminals in the sky maze.
  5. 05
Open the route into the island’s Depths area.
  6. 06
    Descend into Lomei Depths Labyrinth.
  7. 07
    Defeat the associated Flux Construct.
  8. 08
    Activate the final device.
  9. 09
Claim the corresponding piece of the Evil Spirit armour set.

What is and is not required for the shrine

The shrine can therefore be completed independently of the later armour quest. Conversely, completing the shrine does not by itself finish the Lomei prophecy.

---

The shrine itself has only one chest. The wider island contains additional equipment and treasure, but these should not be confused with Igashuk Shrine rewards.

Reports of the island’s surface loot include Zonai-themed bows, shields, spears, swords and Zonai Charges. Some guides note that equipment can vary with game progression, and that certain weapon placements may not display the same strength or modifier in every playthrough.

On Lomei Labyrinth Island

The precise distribution of the island’s non-shrine treasure is map-dependent and is not necessary for shrine completion. A player seeking a full clear should use the in-game Sensor+ set to treasure chests and search the upper ledges, outer corridors and dead-end branches after activating the shrine.

---

The surface route to Igashuk Shrine is principally a navigation challenge. Unlike the Depths stage, the shrine approach does not culminate in a required boss fight.

Main hazards

The wider Lomei sequence introduces more serious combat later, particularly in the Depths. The Flux Construct is associated with the later labyrinth progression, not with the Igashuk Shrine chamber itself.

Practical safety checklist

---

Akkala Ancient Tech Lab

The lab is a useful mainland landmark and one of the clearest navigation references for the island. The cliffs around it can also serve as a launch point for gliding north-east. It is not part of Lomei Labyrinth Island and does not provide a shrine-specific service.

Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower

Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower is the most useful regional launch point. Its height makes the island visible and allows Link to begin the journey with a substantial amount of altitude.

Jochi-ihiga Shrine

Jochi-ihiga Shrine is commonly used as a nearby travel reference in guides for reaching the island. It is separate from Igashuk Shrine and is not part of the Lomei maze.

Mogisari Shrine

Mogisari Shrine is associated with the Lomei Sky Labyrinth. It should not be listed as an interior room, branch or companion shrine of Igashuk Shrine. It belongs to the upper stage of the same broader Lomei challenge.

Kuhsagi Lightroot

Kuhsagi Lightroot corresponds to the general location of Igashuk Shrine in the Depths. The Lightroot is a separate underground facility and does not replace the surface shrine.

---

Lomei Labyrinth Island also appears in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, where it contains a different shrine and a separate labyrinth challenge. The Tears of the Kingdom version should not be treated as the same shrine under a renamed title. Igashuk Shrine is specific to Tears of the Kingdom, while the earlier game’s island content belongs to a different progression and reward structure.

The three-dimensional Lomei structure in Tears of the Kingdom expands the earlier labyrinth concept into a connected surface, sky and Depths sequence. The surface shrine acts as the first major checkpoint, while the later areas develop the same architectural mystery into a longer challenge tied to the Evil Spirit armour set.

---

For a first visit, the following order is efficient:

---

Kuhsagi Lightroot: steps

  1. 01
Travel to Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower or the cliffs near Akkala Ancient Tech Lab.
  2. 02
    Glide to Lomei Labyrinth Island.
  3. 03
    Enter through the surface entrance.
  4. 04
Follow the acorn markers if you want the intended navigation experience.
  5. 05
Use logs and Ascend if you prefer a fast route.
  6. 06
    Activate Igashuk Shrine immediately.
  7. 07
Open the shrine chest and collect the Large Zonai Charge.
  8. 08
Explore the island’s outer branches for additional chests and weapons.
  9. 09
Return to the central area and begin the Lomei Labyrinth Island Prophecy if desired.
  10. 10
Prepare a flying machine and Zonai Charges before travelling to the sky labyrinth.
  11. 11
Treat the Depths labyrinth and its boss as a separate expedition.

Is Igashuk Shrine difficult?

The shrine interior is not difficult because it is a Rauru’s Blessing shrine. The difficulty lies in reaching the central chamber of Lomei Labyrinth Island.

Does Igashuk Shrine have a puzzle?

Not inside the shrine. The surface labyrinth is the associated puzzle and navigation challenge.

What is in the chest?

The chest contains a Large Zonai Charge.

Can I skip the labyrinth?

Yes. Ascend, climbing and gliding can bypass large portions of the intended route. A shortcut using logs and Ascend is particularly effective.

Do I need to complete the sky labyrinth first?

No. The surface route to Igashuk Shrine can be completed before the sky and Depths stages.

Is Mogisari Shrine part of Igashuk Shrine?

No. Mogisari Shrine is associated with the Lomei Sky Labyrinth. It is a separate shrine in a separate area.

Is the Depths Lightroot part of the shrine?

No. Kuhsagi Lightroot is the corresponding underground location, but it is a distinct facility.

Is this the same as the Lomei shrine in Breath of the Wild?

No. The island returns in Breath of the Wild, but Igashuk Shrine is the Tears of the Kingdom shrine and has its own reward and progression context.
