Key takeaways

  • Mogisari Shrine is located at approximately 4655, 3501, 1010, at the southern side of the Lomei Sky Labyrinth in the Akkala Sea Sky.
  • The nearest practical launch point is Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower, although reaching the shrine directly may require stamina recovery, Zonai devices or an intermediate sky island.
  • Its trial is called Courage to Jump.
  • The main vehicle can travel across hazardous surfaces, including lava and spike sections, so abandoning it too early usually makes the shrine harder.
  • The optional chest contains a Mighty Zonaite Shield, also reported by some guides under localised naming variants such as Zonaite Shield or Zonaite Greatshield.
  • The final reward is a Light of Blessing.

About this guide

Spoilers: This guide reveals the shrine’s chest, puzzle route and the relationship between the shrine and the Lomei Sky Labyrinth.

Overview

Mogisari Shrine is a shrine in the Akkala Sea Sky region of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. It is positioned at the southern entrance to the Lomei Sky Labyrinth, a large floating maze in the north-east sky. The shrine’s trial, “Courage to Jump”, is a vehicle-control challenge in which Link must steer a Zonai car across lava, spikes, lasers and steep terrain before using a rocket-assisted launch to reach the altar.

This guide treats Mogisari Shrine itself as the primary location. The surrounding Lomei Sky Labyrinth and its wider approach islands are discussed as connected areas, but they are not folded into the shrine’s directory. The shrine is part of the base game and has no known alternate version in another continuity or gameplay mode.

Overview and boundaries

Mogisari Shrine is not a broad settlement or regional hub. It is a single shrine structure and trial space attached to the southern part of the Lomei Sky Labyrinth in the sky. The approach involves several floating islands, launch devices and possible vehicle construction, but these are part of the route to the shrine rather than additional rooms within it.

The Lomei Sky Labyrinth is a separate named location with its own surface, sky and Depths-related connections. Players may encounter the shrine while working through the wider Lomei area, but completing the labyrinth and completing Mogisari Shrine are separate objectives. Mogisari Shrine can be entered and completed without treating the entire labyrinth as one continuous shrine interior.

The shrine’s exterior position is especially useful as a travel marker. Once activated, it provides a fast-travel point near the Lomei Sky Labyrinth and can serve as a launch point for exploring the surrounding Akkala sky islands.

Access and routes

The most commonly recommended starting point is Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower. Launch from the tower and glide north-east towards the chain of floating islands near the Lomei Sky Labyrinth. The distance is considerable, and a normal glide may not be enough unless Link has substantial stamina or stamina-restoring food and elixirs.

Some guides describe an intermediate island with a launch arrangement or vehicle-building opportunity. The exact usefulness of these devices depends on the state of the island when approached and on the player’s available battery capacity. Because the route is open-air, there is no single mandatory construction design.

Equipment and preparation

You do not need a special key item or Sage ability to enter Mogisari Shrine. The main preparation concerns the journey rather than the trial:

The shrine’s internal vehicle is provided, so bringing a personal vehicle is optional. Nevertheless, spare Zonai materials can be useful if you lose control of the shrine vehicle or want to experiment with alternative solutions.

Recommended route from the surface: A practical route is

  1. 01
Travel to Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower.
  2. 02
    Prepare stamina-restoring meals or elixirs.
  3. 03
Launch north-east and aim for the small sky islands south-west or south of the labyrinth.
  4. 04
Use any available Zonai vehicle parts, particularly fans, wings and batteries, to extend the journey.
  5. 05
Land on an intermediate island rather than attempting an unsafe final glide.
  6. 06
Continue towards the southern side of the Lomei Sky Labyrinth.
  7. 07
Activate Mogisari Shrine before entering the trial.

Shrine walkthrough

1. Take control of the supplied vehicle

After entering the shrine, descend to the vehicle at the starting area. It has a steering stick and is designed to carry Link across the course. The trial is primarily about maintaining control rather than fighting enemies.

Use short, careful inputs. Sudden turns can send the vehicle into a wall, lava or a drop. If the vehicle begins to point the wrong way, stop in a safe area and use Ultrahand to reposition it rather than trying to correct it at speed.

2. Cross the hazardous course

Remaining on the vehicle allows Link to pass over several hazards that would be dangerous on foot. The vehicle is therefore more than a convenience. It is the intended protection against much of the course.

The broad route is forgiving enough to permit some exploration, but the terrain can make steering awkward. Keep the vehicle aligned with the next platform before accelerating. On slopes, gentle steering is more reliable than holding the control stick hard to one side.

3. Collect the optional chest

The chest is on a side route near the laser section. Guides consistently place it behind or beyond a breakable wall on the left-hand or upper-left branch of the course.

The chest contains a Mighty Zonaite Shield according to the most consistent English-language listings. Localised and secondary guide names vary, so the item may appear under a slightly different translation in some references.

4. Continue to the final jump

After the chest route, return to the main course and continue until reaching the final large gap or raised landing area. The supplied vehicle does not have enough ordinary momentum to make the last ascent reliably.

A Rocket is provided nearby. Attach it to the vehicle, generally towards the rear or in a direction that pushes the vehicle towards the final platform. The exact attachment position can be adjusted with Ultrahand before activating it.

The rocket’s thrust is temporary, so alignment matters more than raw speed. If the vehicle veers, Link can often detach or glide towards the altar, but a failed attempt may require resetting the room or recovering the vehicle.

5. Claim the Light of Blessing

Once Link reaches the final altar, examine it to complete the shrine and receive a Light of Blessing. There is no shrine boss and no combat trial at the end.

3. Collect the optional chest: To obtain it

  1. 01
    Drive towards the laser area.
  2. 02
Take the left or upper-left branch where the terrain rises.
  3. 03
Look for a breakable stone barrier or wall.
  4. 04
Destroy the barrier with a suitable weapon, explosive effect or other reliable method.
  5. 05
Enter the small recess and open the chest.

4. Continue to the final jump: A safe method is

  1. 01
Stop the vehicle on level ground.
  2. 02
Pick up the rocket with Ultrahand.
  3. 03
Attach it so that its thrust points towards the final platform.
  4. 04
    Mount the vehicle.
  5. 05
Activate the rocket while aligned with the jump.
  6. 06
Use the paraglider if the vehicle reaches the gap but Link needs help landing.

Items and rewards

The shrine chest is fixed content rather than a random drop. The vehicle parts and rockets inside the shrine are puzzle equipment supplied for the trial, not permanent inventory rewards.

Hazards and practical advice

Vehicle control

The course is deliberately designed to make steering difficult. A vehicle that is slightly misaligned can slide into hazards, especially on slopes. If control becomes unstable:

Lava and spikes

The vehicle lets Link cross these hazards without taking the same direct damage he would suffer on foot. Do not assume that dismounting is safe merely because the vehicle has stopped. If you need to inspect a route, use the camera or Ultrahand first.

Lasers

The laser section is both a navigation hazard and the point where the optional chest route branches away from the main path. The chest route may place the vehicle on a raised or awkward surface, so adjust the vehicle before accelerating.

The final rocket

Do not attach the rocket while the vehicle is moving. It is much easier to control the launch if the vehicle is stationary and pointed directly at the destination.

Suggested exploration checklist

Before leaving Mogisari Shrine, check that you have:

Nearby connections

Mogisari Shrine’s principal nearby connection is the Lomei Sky Labyrinth. The shrine sits at the labyrinth’s sky level and is commonly used as a navigation point when approaching or exploring the maze. The wider Akkala Sea Sky contains other islands and vehicle-building opportunities, but they should be treated as neighbouring sky areas rather than parts of Mogisari Shrine.

Lore and design notes

Mogisari Shrine’s trial reflects one of *Tears of the Kingdom*’s recurring design ideas: Zonai technology is used as both transport and puzzle language. Rather than asking Link to solve a static mechanism, the shrine tests momentum, steering, vehicle positioning and controlled use of propulsion.

The trial name, Courage to Jump, is reflected in the final rocket-assisted launch. The last section is not simply a driving challenge. It asks the player to commit to a jump, understand the direction of force and use the paraglider as a recovery tool if the trajectory is imperfect.

The shrine also functions as a practical introduction to the kind of vehicle handling needed in the Lomei sky areas. Although the shrine itself supplies everything necessary, the journey outside encourages the same systems-based thinking: combine Zonai devices, preserve battery power, use intermediate islands and adapt the construction to the route.
