About this guide

Spoilers: This guide reveals the shrine’s puzzle, chest location and the nearby overworld hazard.

Overview

Siwakama Shrine is a Shrine of Light in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. It is found on a raised rock outcropping in the eastern Gerudo Desert, immediately north of the East Barrens. The shrine’s internal challenge, “Moving the Spheres”, teaches a simple but increasingly demanding use of Ultrahand: position large spherical objects so that they form temporary platforms across wide gaps.

The shrine is a small, self-contained location rather than a settlement or broad regional area. Its relevant scope consists of:

The nearby desert is patrolled by a Molduga, so reaching the shrine overland can be more dangerous than its visible, open-air entrance suggests. The shrine can be completed before the Gerudo region’s sand shroud is removed, although approaching from above is generally safer.

Location and boundaries

The shrine outcrop

Siwakama Shrine stands in the eastern part of the Gerudo Desert on a small elevated rock formation. It is not inside a cave, ruin, settlement or quest-exclusive area. The shrine’s green entrance is visible from the surrounding desert, although the raised terrain and the broad, exposed landscape can make it easier to locate from the air than from ground level.

The most useful regional landmark is the East Barrens, which lies to the south of the shrine. The shrine should therefore be treated as a Gerudo Desert location on the northern edge of the East Barrens, not as a location within a larger named settlement or dungeon.

Included and neighbouring areas

The following places are relevant to the shrine but should not be treated as the same location:

There are no verified residents, businesses, shops, houses, stable facilities or permanent security posts at the shrine itself. It is a puzzle location in an exposed desert environment.

Access and recommended routes

From the surface

The shrine is reachable before completing the Gerudo regional storyline. Since it is in the open desert, there is no entrance puzzle or quest gate that must be unlocked first. A player can approach it by travelling across the sand, climbing the surrounding rock formations or gliding from a higher elevation.

The exact safest starting point depends on which towers, shrines and desert routes have already been discovered. The important navigation principle is to avoid crossing the centre of the surrounding sand unnecessarily.

Avoiding the Molduga

A Molduga patrols the area around the shrine. This is the main overworld danger associated with reaching Siwakama Shrine. The safest general approach is to glide down from an elevated position rather than sprinting across open sand.

Defeating the Molduga is optional. It is not required to enter or complete the shrine.

From the surface: A practical surface route is

  1. 01
Travel into the eastern Gerudo Desert.
  2. 02
Use the map marker at approximately -2446, -3344.
  3. 03
Look for the shrine on the raised rock outcrop north of the East Barrens.
  4. 04
Approach from above where possible, using a paraglider or a nearby elevated position.
  5. 05
Activate the shrine before entering so that it becomes a fast-travel point.

Shrine walkthrough: Moving the Spheres

Siwakama Shrine contains three main puzzle sections. The central idea remains the same throughout: spherical objects are used as bridges or platforms over gaps. The shrine does not allow ordinary climbing on its walls, so careful placement is more important than simply jumping.

Room one: the first sphere

The key is to position the sphere centrally. If it is left too close to one edge, it may roll away or leave Link without enough height to cross. If you fall, ladders on the sides of the lower area allow you to return to the upper platform.

Room two: opening the chest

After crossing the first gap, bring the sphere into the next room. Before solving the main crossing, look towards the side of the starting platform. A ramp leads towards a breakable wall.

This chest is easy to miss because it is not directly on the main route. The shrine’s intended solution uses the sphere as a rolling projectile rather than as a bridge.

Room two: making a two-sphere platform

Once the chest has been collected, return to the main room.

The exact angle is forgiving, but the combined object must provide enough height and stability for Link to jump across. If the spheres slide away, detach and reposition them rather than trying to chase them across the room.

Room three: building the final platform

The final room introduces another sphere. The objective is to combine all three spheres into a triangular arrangement.

The three-sphere arrangement provides more height and stability than a straight line of spheres. A flat or poorly balanced arrangement may roll, tilt or leave the final platform too low.

Room one: the first sphere

  1. 01
Examine the gap in front of the starting platform.
  2. 02
Use Ultrahand to pick up the sphere on the far side.
  3. 03
Move it into the middle of the gap.
  4. 04
Place it on the raised section so that it does not roll away.
  5. 05
Jump onto the sphere and cross to the opposite platform.

Room two: opening the chest

  1. 01
Pick up one of the spheres.
  2. 02
Carry it to the top of the ramp.
  3. 03
Release it so that it rolls down the slope.
  4. 04
Allow the sphere to strike and destroy the breakable wall.
  5. 05
    Enter the newly opened chamber.
  6. 06
Open the chest to collect five Bomb Flowers.

Room two: making a two-sphere platform

  1. 01
Attach the two available spheres together with Ultrahand.
  2. 02
Place the joined spheres on the sloped section.
  3. 03
Position the connection so that the spheres remain balanced rather than rolling down the slope.
  4. 04
Use the resulting structure as a platform to reach the next area.

Room three: building the final platform

  1. 01
Bring the two-sphere assembly from the previous room into the final room.
  2. 02
    Attach the third sphere.
  3. 03
Arrange the three spheres into a triangular or tripod-like shape.
  4. 04
Place the centre of the arrangement over the small raised point or structure in the final gap.
  5. 05
Climb or jump onto the assembly.
  6. 06
Cross to the altar and examine it to receive the Light of Blessing.

Inventory and rewards

The Bomb Flowers are a fixed shrine chest reward, not a random drop. The Light of Blessing is awarded for completing the shrine and examining the altar.

As with other completed Shrines of Light, Siwakama Shrine also becomes a fast-travel point after activation. The shrine itself does not provide a shop, healing service, crafting facility or resident NPC.

Nearby enemies and hazards

Molduga

The surrounding desert is patrolled by a Molduga. It is the only specifically documented major enemy associated with the shrine’s immediate exterior.

You can either avoid it or defeat it. Avoidance is usually the better choice if the immediate goal is simply to unlock the shrine. Defeating it may be worthwhile if you need Molduga materials, but that is a separate combat activity rather than part of Siwakama Shrine’s puzzle.

Desert conditions

The Gerudo Desert’s heat and, depending on story progression, the sand shroud can affect the journey to the shrine. The shrine remains accessible before the Lightning Temple’s regional resolution, so players should prepare appropriate heat protection or use suitable meals and elixirs. The shrine does not itself impose a separate environmental condition once Link has entered.

Shrine falls

The interior gaps are non-lethal in the usual puzzle sense, but falling returns Link to the lower section of the room. Ladders are available in the earlier sections, allowing the puzzle to be retried without restarting the shrine.

Depths connection

Siwakama Shrine corresponds to Amakawis Lightroot in the Depths. This relationship follows the broader surface-and-Depths map pattern in Tears of the Kingdom, but the Lightroot is a separate facility and should not be counted as a room or subarea within Siwakama Shrine.

Lighting Amakawis Lightroot does not replace completing Siwakama Shrine, and completing Siwakama Shrine does not automatically light the Lightroot. Players interested in map completion should record the two as separate objectives.

Named directory

Shrine and interior areas

The shrine’s individual puzzle rooms do not appear to have separate canonical names. Descriptions such as “first room”, “second room” and “final room” are practical guide labels rather than proper in-game names.

Nearby landmarks

These nearby landmarks are part of the wider eastern Gerudo Desert environment, not facilities inside Siwakama Shrine.

Characters and enemies

No shrine resident, quest giver, merchant or named NPC is documented at the shrine itself.
