About this guide
Spoiler warning: This guide covers the shrine quest, the enemies surrounding the shrine, its treasure and its relationship with the Lost Woods and the Depths.
Overview
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, base game
Sakunbomar Shrine is a Shrine of Light in the Lost Woods, within the wider Great Hyrule Forest region. Unlike a shrine that can simply be entered and solved, Sakunbomar is initially inactive. Link must begin and complete the Shrine Quest “None Shall Pass?”, defeat a Stone Talus carrying the shrine crystal, and return that crystal to the shrine’s pedestal. Once unlocked, the shrine itself is a short Rauru’s Blessing chamber containing a Diamond and a Light of Blessing.
The location is easy to misclassify because several names overlap. Sakunbomar Shrine is not a separate settlement, dungeon or cave. It is a shrine structure situated in the north-western part of the Lost Woods, which itself is an area of the Great Hyrule Forest. Korok Forest is nearby but is a distinct subarea rather than another name for the shrine’s immediate location.
Geography and boundaries
Great Hyrule Forest
The Great Hyrule Forest is the broad regional area containing the Lost Woods, Korok Forest and several other surface locations. Sakunbomar Shrine should therefore be listed under Great Hyrule Forest, not only under Korok Forest. The region contains multiple separate shrines, including Musanokir Shrine in Korok Forest, Ninjis Shrine south of the forest, Pupunke Shrine east of Korok Forest and Sakunbomar Shrine to the north-west.
Lost Woods
The Lost Woods is the immediate named area around Sakunbomar Shrine. The shrine stands beyond the forest route leading away from Korok Forest. Its quest deliberately uses the woodland’s enclosed paths, fallen timber and poor visibility to make navigation part of the challenge.
Korok Forest
Korok Forest is the principal settlement and activity centre in the Great Hyrule Forest. It is the most useful starting area for Sakunbomar Shrine, but the shrine is not inside the settlement itself. Zooki’s quest begins on the route leading away from Korok Forest, and the shrine lies farther into the Lost Woods.
Immediate shrine surroundings
The shrine’s exterior is reached by following a woodland path marked with Blue Nightshades. The route passes through a hollow log and hostile forest terrain before reaching the crystal’s destination. The shrine is initially dormant. Its activation beam appears only after Link accepts the crystal quest and interacts with the shrine.

Named directory
Plants and navigation markers
These names cover the verified named content directly associated with the shrine and its unlocking quest. The surrounding Lost Woods contains additional unnamed woodland features and ordinary enemy encounters, but those should not be treated as separate named subareas without stronger evidence.

Places and areas
Access and recommended route
The most straightforward surface approach is from Korok Forest. If the forest is available as a fast-travel destination, use it as the starting point. From there, travel north-west along the route leading away from the settlement and look for Zooki near the illuminated trail.
The shrine quest is not merely a marker directing Link to a visible shrine. The crystal must be delivered before the shrine becomes usable. The usual quest objective is therefore to transport the crystal rather than solve a conventional shrine puzzle.
Navigation advice
The Blue Nightshades are the intended route markers. Do not assume that the most direct-looking path through the trees is correct. If the trail disappears, return to the last visible flowers and search around the path, logs and clearings rather than climbing blindly through the woodland.
The quest route includes a hollow log. This is an important transition point, since the enemies and the crystal-bearing Stone Talus are beyond the marked path rather than beside Zooki’s starting position.
---
A practical route is
- 01Start in or near Korok Forest.
- 02Travel north-west towards the edge of the settlement.
- 03Find Zooki beside the route marked by Blue Nightshades.
- 04Speak to Zooki to begin “None Shall Pass?”.
- 05Follow the Blue Nightshade trail through the hollow log.
- 06Defeat or bypass the enemies on the path.
- 07Reach the inactive shrine and examine it to reveal the crystal’s location.
- 08Follow the beam to the nearby Stone Talus.
- 09Defeat the Stone Talus and detach the shrine crystal.
- 10Carry the crystal back to the shrine.
- 11Place it on the pedestal to activate Sakunbomar Shrine.
- 12Enter the shrine, open the chest and examine the altar.
Shrine Quest: “None Shall Pass?”
None Shall Pass? is the activity that unlocks Sakunbomar Shrine. Zooki gives the quest near Korok Forest, where he warns Link about the dangers ahead. The quest name reflects the hostile forest route and the blocked passage beyond the starting point.
1. Speak to Zooki
Locate Zooki near the Blue Nightshade trail outside Korok Forest. Speaking to him starts the quest and directs Link towards the forest route.
2. Follow the Blue Nightshades
Stay close to the flowers and continue through the woodland. The marked route leads through a hollow log. This is safer and more reliable than attempting to cross the surrounding forest in a straight line.
3. Deal with the forest enemies
The route contains a mixture of Stalkoblins, Stalmoblins and Evermeans. You can fight them, avoid some of them or use the surrounding terrain to create distance. The enemies are not the shrine’s formal trial, but they can make carrying the crystal later more difficult if left near the path.
4. Activate the shrine objective
At the shrine site, interact with the shrine. This activates the shrine’s beam and points towards the hidden crystal. The shrine itself cannot be completed before this point because its entrance is not yet active.
5. Find the crystal
Follow the beam through the forest until it reaches a Stone Talus. The shrine crystal is attached to the Talus, so the objective is not simply to pick up an item from the ground.
6. Defeat the Stone Talus
The usual Stone Talus strategy is to climb onto its body, reach the ore deposit and attack the weak point. Ascending onto the Talus can be made easier with a spring, Recall-assisted movement or other Zonai-device solutions, although the exact method is optional.
One practical warning from walkthrough coverage concerns spring-based attacks: if Link launches himself too far while trying to strike from above, the game may return him to the spring’s position. Keep the attack within the encounter area and draw the bow promptly after gaining height if using this method.
7. Return the crystal
Once the Talus is defeated, detach the shrine crystal and carry it back to the shrine pedestal. The crystal is a quest object, so treat the journey as a delivery route rather than an opportunity to throw it long distances through the trees.
8. Enter Sakunbomar Shrine
Place the crystal at the shrine. The entrance activates, allowing Link to enter the interior and claim the blessing.

Enemies and hazards
Stone Talus
The Stone Talus is the quest’s main combat encounter. It is both the guardian of the crystal and the main reason the shrine cannot be activated immediately. Its ore deposit functions as the vulnerable target. Climb the body, attack the deposit and take care not to be knocked off by its movements.
The fight is easier if you prepare a strong mining or blunt weapon. The exact weapon is not mandatory, and the encounter does not require a particular Sage ability.
Stalkoblins and Stalmoblins
These enemies appear along the marked route. Stalkoblins are ordinary skeletal Bokoblin-type enemies, while Stalmoblins are their larger skeletal counterparts. They can be cleared before transporting the crystal, reducing the chance of interruption.
Evermeans
Evermeans are hostile tree enemies found in forested areas. Their presence is particularly easy to overlook because they resemble ordinary woodland scenery. Watch for suspicious trees and be prepared to move away if one begins attacking.
Forest navigation
The main non-combat hazard is losing the intended route. The Lost Woods’ dense scenery, hollow logs and narrow paths can obscure the direction of travel. The Blue Nightshades are more useful than the shrine icon once the quest begins, since they mark the route through the trees.

Shrine interior: Rauru’s Blessing
Sakunbomar Shrine is a Rauru’s Blessing shrine. This means the difficulty is outside the shrine, in the quest and the crystal recovery, rather than in an interior puzzle.
The chamber consists of a simple path through a void-like space. A Stone Chest stands in the central area. After opening it, continue to the altar and examine the terminal in front of the Rauru and Sonia statue to receive the Light of Blessing.
Shrine inventory
The Diamond is fixed shrine treasure, not a random drop. The Light of Blessing is the shrine-completion reward and is not obtained from the chest.
Completion steps
There is no hidden puzzle room, combat trial or second chest reported for this shrine.
---
Shrine inventory
| Location | Item | Acquisition |
|---|---|---|
| Central shrine chamber | Diamond | Open the Stone Chest |
| Altar | Light of Blessing | Examine the shrine terminal after entering |
Completion steps
- 01Walk forwards into the shrine chamber.
- 02Open the Stone Chest.
- 03Collect the Diamond.
- 04Continue to the altar.
- 05Examine the terminal.
- 06Receive the Light of Blessing.
Nearby connections
Korok Forest
Korok Forest is the key staging point for the shrine quest. It provides the closest recognisable settlement and is where the quest route begins. Players who have not yet explored the north-western forest should use the settlement as their navigation reference rather than trying to locate the shrine from distant regional landmarks.
Musanokir Shrine
Musanokir Shrine is another shrine within the Great Hyrule Forest and is a useful nearby map reference when planning exploration around Korok Forest. It is not a subarea of Sakunbomar Shrine and has its own quest and access requirements. The Great Hyrule Forest shrine list treats Musanokir and Sakunbomar as separate locations.
Ramobnukas Lightroot
Sakunbomar Shrine corresponds to Ramobnukas Lightroot in the Depths. This is useful when mapping the surface and underground layers, since surface shrines and Depths Lightroots are positioned in relation to one another. Ramobnukas Lightroot is not part of the shrine interior and should be treated as a separate location in a different game layer.

Exploration checklist
Before leaving the area, check that you have:
The quest itself is not described as permanently missable. If you leave the forest, you can return and continue the objective. However, the shrine’s reward remains unavailable until the crystal has been delivered.
---
Lore and presentation
Sakunbomar’s trial name is Rauru’s Blessing, which places it among the shrines where the real challenge is reaching and activating the entrance. The shrine’s interior dialogue describes the reward as light that cleanses Link of evil, matching the standard function of a Light of Blessing shrine.
The forest setting also creates a contrast between the shrine’s quiet interior and the hostile route outside. The apparent simplicity of the completed shrine can be misleading: the Stone Talus encounter and woodland navigation are the actual content associated with Sakunbomar.
The shrine has also prompted continuity discussion among players because Zooki can comment that the shrine looks different from before. This is best treated as an observation about the shrine’s presentation across the game’s continuity rather than as evidence that Sakunbomar Shrine is a returning shrine with an identical function. The verified Tears of the Kingdom content is the shrine, its Rauru’s Blessing trial and the None Shall Pass? quest.
