Note

Base game guide. This page covers Ramobnukas Lightroot itself and the immediately connected route towards the Forest Coliseum. The wider Great Hyrule Forest Depths, Korok Grove and neighbouring Lightroots are treated as nearby locations rather than being incorrectly folded into the Lightroot’s boundaries.

Overview

Ramobnukas Lightroot is a Depths travel point in the Great Hyrule Forest Depths, beneath the northern-central part of Hyrule. It stands in Korok Grove, in the underground region below the Great Hyrule Forest, and is especially useful as the nearest fast-travel point for the Forest Coliseum. Its Surface counterpart is Sakunbomar Shrine, following the usual reversed-name relationship between Shrines of Light and Lightroots.

The Lightroot is a compact destination rather than a settlement or dungeon. It has no named residents, shops, quest-givers or permanent facilities beyond the Lightroot itself. Its real importance comes from three things: revealing part of the Depths map, providing a Travel Point, and serving as the starting point for the banana trail leading west to the Forest Coliseum and its Korok Mask encounter.

Boundaries and hierarchy

Ramobnukas Lightroot should be treated as a single Lightroot location, not as another name for the whole Great Hyrule Forest Depths.

The Forest Coliseum is nearby and closely associated with the Lightroot, but it remains a separate named location. Likewise, Eknupup Lightroot, Rikonasum Lightroot and Sijnin Lightroot are neighbouring Lightroots in the same broad forest region, not subareas of Ramobnukas Lightroot. Ramobnukas is described as the westernmost of four Lightroots situated close together in Korok Grove.

Its location hierarchy is

What Ramobnukas Lightroot does

Like other Lightroots, Ramobnukas Lightroot has three practical functions.

Illuminates the Depths

Activating the Lightroot creates a broad light source around it and reveals the surrounding section of the Depths map. This makes the nearby terrain, cliffs and routes easier to read, particularly before the forest region has been mapped.

Creates a Travel Point

Once activated, Ramobnukas Lightroot can be selected as a fast-travel destination. This makes it a useful return point for repeated trips to the Forest Coliseum, nearby enemy platforms and the surrounding Korok Grove area.

Restores Gloom-damaged hearts

Standing in the Lightroot’s illumination restores hearts that have been damaged by Gloom, in the same general way as safety on the Surface. It does not remove ordinary damage, replace missing maximum hearts caused by other effects, or function as a healing shop.

Finding Ramobnukas Lightroot

From the Surface

The most reliable method is to use the relationship between the Surface and the Depths:

Lightroots correspond to Surface Shrines, and their names are reversed versions of the Shrine names. Sakunbomar becomes Ramobnukas when read backwards. This is a useful general navigation rule, although the Depths terrain can still make the direct route difficult.

Using nearby Lightroots

If Ramobnukas is still hidden, approaching from another activated Lightroot in the Great Hyrule Forest Depths is also practical. The nearby network includes:

These are separate destinations, and their listed coordinates show that they form a relatively dense group beneath the forest.

From the Surface

  1. 01
Find or activate Sakunbomar Shrine on the Surface.
  2. 02
Open the map and switch between the Surface and Depths layers.
  3. 03
Place a marker at the corresponding position below the Shrine.
  4. 04
Enter the Depths through a suitable nearby Chasm.
  5. 05
Travel towards the marked location, using Brightbloom Seeds and the map to avoid cliffs and Gloom.
  6. 06
Activate Ramobnukas Lightroot when you reach it.

Terrain and navigation

The local Depths terrain is part of the forest region beneath the Great Hyrule Forest. Ramobnukas Lightroot is not described as a mine, cavern, shrine-like puzzle area or dungeon entrance. Its main navigational feature is its position relative to the Forest Coliseum.

The Forest Coliseum lies west of Ramobnukas Lightroot. The route is significant because it contains the deliberately placed Mighty Banana trail that begins the Coliseum encounter.

Practical route from Ramobnukas Lightroot to the Forest Coliseum

The banana trail is not simply a free collection route. Following it to its conclusion triggers an ambush.

Practical route from Ramobnukas Lightroot to the Forest Coliseum

  1. 01
Activate Ramobnukas Lightroot before following the route. This gives you a safe Travel Point and improves visibility.
  2. 02
Face west and look for the trail of Mighty Bananas.
  3. 03
Collect or follow the bananas along the route.
  4. 04
Continue until you reach the Forest Coliseum.
  5. 05
Enter the Coliseum and prepare for a boss-style enemy encounter.
  6. 06
    Defeat the Gloom-wreathed Black Hinox.
  7. 07
Open the chest in the cleared arena to obtain the Korok Mask.

Materials and collectibles

Mighty Bananas

Mighty Bananas are the only material specifically listed for Ramobnukas Lightroot in the consulted location reference. They are particularly important here because a trail of them leads towards the Forest Coliseum.

The trail functions as a fixed environmental encounter rather than a random material drop. It is therefore useful to distinguish between:

The available sources do not establish a complete object-by-object inventory for every material, loose weapon, chest or enemy platform around the Lightroot. The Lightroot should not be treated as having a confirmed exclusive chest merely because nearby Depths areas contain treasure.

Forest Coliseum connection

The Forest Coliseum is the most important destination connected to Ramobnukas Lightroot. Its entrance is west of the Lightroot, and the banana trail is designed to lure Link into the arena. Once the trail is followed to the end, two Yiga Footsoldiers appear and seal the Coliseum’s door. They then release a Gloom-wreathed Black Hinox.

Walkthrough

The Korok Mask detects nearby Koroks by shaking, making it a useful exploration item for players working through the many Korok puzzles across Hyrule. The Forest Coliseum reward is fixed, not a random drop.

Repeat visits

The Black Hinox can return after a Blood Moon, but the Yiga ambush does not repeat in the same way and the Korok Mask chest is not replaced. The Forest Coliseum Black Hinox also counts towards the requirements for the Hinox Monster Medal.

Walkthrough

  1. 01
Stock up before following the bananas. Bring healing food, Gloom recovery if available, and weapons capable of dealing with a large enemy. The fight is not at Ramobnukas itself, so you can prepare at the Lightroot before committing to the route.

Walkthrough

  1. 01
Follow the banana trail west. The bananas are the encounter’s visual clue. Do not assume that collecting them is harmless scenery.

Walkthrough

  1. 01
Enter the Forest Coliseum. The entrance sequence triggers the Yiga trap.

Walkthrough

  1. 01
Defeat the Gloom-wreathed Black Hinox. Keep your distance when necessary, target its eye when possible, and use the arena space to avoid its attacks. The Gloom version makes the fight more dangerous because of the surrounding Depths conditions.

Walkthrough

  1. 01
Wait for the arena to clear. After the Hinox is defeated, the door opens and the Yiga members flee.

Walkthrough

  1. 01
Open the chest in the Hinox’s cell. The Gloom covering the chest clears, allowing Link to claim the Korok Mask.

Residents, NPCs and services

Ramobnukas Lightroot is an isolated Depths landmark. The consulted sources do not identify any permanent residents, ordinary NPCs, merchants, shops, inns, Constructs or named service providers stationed at the Lightroot.

Progression and missability

Ramobnukas Lightroot is not presented as a progression-gated location. It can be activated whenever Link reaches it, provided the player can navigate the Depths route.

The Forest Coliseum reward is also not described as permanently missable. However, the encounter is easy to overlook if the player ignores the Mighty Banana trail. The important distinction is:
