Introduction
Oromuwak Shrine is a Shrine of Light in the Hebra area of Hyrule. Its trial, “A Launching Device,” is a compact practical lesson in using Zonai Rockets with Ultrahand, mine carts, rails and shields. The shrine lies on a high hill to the south-east of the Lucky Clover Gazette, near the north-eastern end of Strock Lake and south-east of Rito Village.
The shrine itself is small, but its position makes it useful beyond the one-time puzzle. It is close to the Hebra road network, the Lucky Clover Gazette and several early-game routes around Rito territory. Once activated, it also becomes a convenient fast-travel point for collecting the nearby rockets and travelling through the western Hebra region.
Location and boundaries
Oromuwak Shrine stands on an elevated, rocky hill south-east of the Lucky Clover Gazette. It is not part of Rito Village, the Gazette building or Strock Lake itself. Those are neighbouring landmarks and travel references rather than subareas of the shrine.
The sources consulted do not establish a formal named settlement or separately defined district called “Oromuwak”. For that reason, this guide treats Oromuwak Shrine as the shrine interior and its immediate entrance area, while discussing nearby landmarks separately rather than folding them into the shrine.
Canonical named places in and around the scope
Oromuwak is described by different guides as being in the Hebra region, Hebra Mountains or near the Tabantha Frontier. These descriptions reflect overlapping regional labels rather than separate versions of the shrine.

The shrine’s practical immediate area consists of
- 01The elevated approach and rocky hill.
- 02The thorn-covered exterior entrance.
- 03The shrine interior, containing the rocket-and-cart trial.
- 04The nearby exterior terrain used as a route between the Gazette, Rito territory and the wider Hebra region.

Getting there
From Rito Village
Travel east or south-east from Rito Village, following the roads and open slopes towards the Lucky Clover Gazette. From the Gazette, climb or glide south-east towards the elevated shrine hill. The shrine’s green glow is visible once you are close enough to the surrounding cliffs.
This route is practical during the early Hebra sequence because it keeps the shrine near the main road between Rito Village and the Gazette. It also lets you combine the visit with other regional activities instead of making a separate trip.
From the Lucky Clover Gazette
The Gazette is the clearest reference point. Leave the building and travel south-east towards the raised rocky ground. The shrine is on top of a hill rather than at the bottom of the valley, so climbing, gliding or using a nearby updraft is usually faster than following every bend in the terrain.
From Rospro Pass Skyview Tower
The Rospro Pass Skyview Tower is a useful launch point. From the tower, glide south-east towards the shrine’s hill. This is one of the quickest approaches if the tower has already been activated, although the cold conditions around Hebra still need to be considered.
Cold-weather preparation
The surrounding Hebra landscape is cold. Wear suitable cold-resistance armour, such as the Snowquill Set, or use a cold-resistance meal or elixir. The shrine interior itself is not presented as a cold-resistance challenge, so the protection is primarily for the journey to and from the entrance.
Entrance vines
Thorns cover the shrine entrance. Burn them with one of the following:
Do not confuse the burning requirement with a hidden quest or regional progression condition. The vines are simply the shrine’s entrance obstacle. Once they are cleared, the shrine can be entered normally.

Shrine layout and puzzle concept
Oromuwak Shrine is a tutorial-style shrine built around launching devices. It introduces the player to several related uses of Rockets:
The puzzle is forgiving. If a cart launches at a poor angle or a device is attached imperfectly, there are usually additional Rockets and carts nearby. The trial is designed to reward experimentation rather than a single exact construction.
---
1. Burn the entrance thorns
Use fire to clear the vines covering the shrine entrance. Enter the shrine once the path is open and activate the shrine’s interior terminal if necessary.
The first chamber contains a ramp, a target mechanism and several Zonai Rockets.
2. Fire a Rocket at the target
Take one Rocket with Ultrahand and place it on the ramp. Point it towards the target on the opposite side of the chamber.
The Rocket does not need to be fused to anything for this first step. Strike it with a weapon, arrow or other activation method. When it hits the target, the mechanism opens the way forward.
3. Reach the mine-cart room
The next chamber contains rails and a mine cart. This is the main movement section of the trial.
Attach a Rocket to the cart. A central or rear attachment usually gives more predictable movement than placing it at an extreme angle. The goal is to send the cart up the rail to the higher ledge.
Some walkthroughs describe using one Rocket, while others show multiple Rockets or a slightly different cart arrangement. The important principle is the same: attach the available Rocket or Rockets so their thrust drives the cart along the rail and upwards.
4. Launch the cart up the rail
Stand in or near the cart and activate the Rocket. The cart should climb to the upper platform.
Do not worry about conserving every Rocket. The shrine provides the devices needed for the trial.
If the cart falls off
- 01Retrieve it with Ultrahand.
- 02Reattach the Rocket closer to the centre.
- 03Make sure the Rocket points in the direction of travel.
- 04Try again while keeping Link seated in the cart.
5. Collect the Ruby chest
After reaching the higher platform, look upwards and around the edges of the chamber. The treasure chest is placed on a raised ledge that is not necessarily on the most obvious route to the exit.
There are two practical ways to reach it:
Open the chest to receive a Ruby. This is a fixed shrine treasure rather than a random drop.
Ruby chest directory
| Name | Details |
|---|---|
| Oromuwak Shrine treasure chest | Ruby, on an elevated ledge in the upper cart section. |
6. Build the final launching cart
After collecting the chest, return to the area with the ramps, carts and Rockets. Construct a cart for the final crossing.
Place the cart on the ramp and attach the Rocket or Rockets so that they point forwards. In the final section there is a wider gap and no ordinary rail carrying the cart all the way across. The cart must therefore be launched through the air.
Some solutions use a cart with two forward-facing Rockets, while other walkthroughs use a simpler construction. The exact number can depend on the arrangement of the provided parts and the player’s angle. Two Rockets provide a strong, stable launch and are the safest general recommendation.
8. Claim the Light of Blessing
Cross the gap, walk to the altar and examine it. Completing the shrine grants one Light of Blessing and activates Oromuwak Shrine as a permanent fast-travel point.

Items and devices
Trial equipment
The shrine supplies the equipment needed to demonstrate its central mechanic.
The exact placement of carts and Rockets may be changed by the player, but the shrine’s supplied devices are part of the fixed puzzle layout rather than randomised equipment.
Exterior item reported near the shrine
A separate nearby point of interest is reported to contain a Zonaite Shield on a tall pillar south of the shrine. This is outside the shrine interior and should not be counted as part of the Ruby chest or the shrine reward. The surrounding location and exact approach are not consistently documented in the sources consulted, so it is best treated as a nearby optional find rather than a confirmed shrine-room collectible.

Fixed rewards
| Location | Item | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Upper interior chest | Ruby | Fixed shrine treasure |
| Shrine altar | Light of Blessing | Granted on completion |
Facilities and progression
Oromuwak Shrine has no shop, inn, stable, forge or named resident inside it. Its permanent facility is the shrine’s fast-travel function after activation.
Not present within the shrine
The Lucky Clover Gazette and Rito Village are nearby destinations, not services provided by Oromuwak Shrine itself.

Nearby connections
Lucky Clover Gazette
The Gazette is the main surface landmark for locating Oromuwak Shrine. It is south-east of the building and can be reached by climbing or gliding from the Gazette’s surroundings.
Rito Village
Rito Village is the most important nearby settlement. The shrine is close enough to fit naturally into a journey to or from the village, but it is not a district or building within Rito Village.
Rospro Pass Skyview Tower
This tower provides a strong aerial approach. Launching from it and gliding towards the shrine is generally quicker than travelling entirely on foot.
Strock Lake and the Hebra terrain
The shrine stands near the north-eastern end of Strock Lake, on raised terrain rather than at the water’s edge. The lake, Hebra Mountains and Tabantha Frontier are geographic reference areas, not shrine subareas.

Suggested exploration routes
Rocket practice route
The shrine is commonly used by players as a convenient source of Rockets because it is permanently accessible and fast travel returns Link close to the device area. This practical use is player-driven rather than a separate quest or formal shrine reward.
---
Quick shrine route
- 01Activate Rospro Pass Skyview Tower.
- 02Glide south-east towards the shrine hill.
- 03Burn the entrance thorns.
- 04Complete the Rocket trial.
- 05Collect the Ruby.
- 06Activate the shrine altar.
- 07Fast-travel back to the shrine later if you need the surrounding Rockets.
Gazette and shrine route
- 01Begin at the Lucky Clover Gazette.
- 02Travel south-east to the shrine hill.
- 03Clear the thorns and complete Oromuwak Shrine.
- 04Return towards the Gazette or continue to Rito Village.
- 05Use the shrine as a travel point for later Hebra exploration.
Rocket practice route
- 01Activate the shrine.
- 02Enter and collect the Rockets in the first room.
- 03Experiment with a Rocket shield or Rocket-cart construction.
- 04Leave the shrine and return later when additional Zonai devices are needed.
Hazards and troubleshooting
The vines will not burn
Use a genuine fire source. Ordinary arrows or weapons will not clear the thorns unless they are combined with a fire-producing effect. Flint and a metal weapon can also work when struck close to the vines.
The first Rocket misses
The target is more easily hit when the Rocket sits squarely on the ramp and points directly towards it. Use Ultrahand to make small angle adjustments rather than trying to throw the Rocket.
The cart falls from the rail
Attach the Rocket near the centre of the cart and keep its thrust aligned with the rail. If several Rockets are used, point them in the same direction.
The final cart flies too low
Use two forward-facing Rockets, position the cart squarely on the ramp and activate them while Link is seated. A badly angled cart can lose height immediately.
You cannot reach the chest
Use a Rocket shield or attach a Rocket to a shield, then jump and activate the device. Alternatively, launch Link with a nearby Rocket and glide towards the ledge. The chest is an optional treasure, so failing to reach it does not prevent shrine completion.
Cold-weather damage outside
The shrine puzzle does not remove the need for cold resistance in the surrounding Hebra environment. Put on cold-resistant clothing or consume a suitable meal or elixir before travelling away from the shrine.

Lore and series context
Oromuwak Shrine belongs to the Shrine of Light system introduced in Tears of the Kingdom. Its trial reflects the game’s broader design philosophy: rather than presenting a single rigid solution, it gives Link a physical problem and a set of Zonai tools that can be combined in several ways.
The trial’s name, A Launching Device, directly describes its central idea. Rockets are first demonstrated as independent projectiles, then as cart propulsion and finally as a means of crossing open space. The sequence therefore moves from a controlled demonstration to a more open-ended construction challenge.
Oromuwak Shrine is a Tears of the Kingdom location. It is not a returning shrine from Breath of the Wild, and its Rocket-based puzzle depends on the Zonai-device mechanics introduced in this game.
