Introduction

Kamizun Shrine is a small but useful early-game Shrine of Light in Central Hyrule, within the wooded Forest of Time area. Its internal trial is “Proving Grounds: Beginner”, a combat challenge designed to teach the practical value of Fuse. Link enters without his usual weapons, armour, food or other equipment, then has to defeat a group of Soldier Constructs using only equipment placed inside the shrine.

The shrine is straightforward once its intended solution is understood: combine a basic weapon with a heavy fuse material, use cover and terrain to control the fight, then deal with the ranged Construct on the raised platform. Completion grants a Light of Blessing, while the optional treasure chest contains a Spring Shield.

Location and boundaries

Kamizun Shrine is a surface shrine, not a Depths or Sky shrine. It stands among the trees of the Forest of Time, north of the Outpost Ruins and west of Proxim Bridge. The shrine is also close to the Forest of Time Chasm, making the chasm a useful regional reference even though it is a separate location.

Broader map descriptions place the shrine south of Lookout Landing, southeast of Hyrule Field Skyview Tower, and roughly between Hyrule Field Skyview Tower and Popla Foothills Skyview Tower. These descriptions refer to the surrounding approach area rather than implying that the shrine belongs to either tower or to the Popla Foothills.

Named locations relevant to the shrine

The Depths counterpart is Nuzimak Lightroot. It is not part of Kamizun Shrine itself and should be treated as a separate location in a different game layer.

Access and recommended routes

From Lookout Landing

The most natural early-game route is to travel south from Lookout Landing through the Hyrule Field woodland. This is a relatively long walk, but it is practical once Link has begun exploring Central Hyrule. The shrine is not locked behind a quest or a regional phenomenon, so it can be entered as soon as Link reaches it.

From Hyrule Field Skyview Tower

Launch from Hyrule Field Skyview Tower and glide or travel south-east towards the Forest of Time. The shrine is southeast of the tower, although trees can make the final approach easier to complete on foot.

From Popla Foothills Skyview Tower

If Popla Foothills Skyview Tower is already unlocked, Kamizun Shrine lies approximately between it and Hyrule Field Skyview Tower. The exact route depends on the player’s elevation and stamina, but either tower provides a useful map reference.

Shrine walkthrough

1. Enter the trial

On entering, the shrine removes Link’s equipment and inventory advantages. The challenge is not a normal combat room in which your own high-damage weapons can be used. Instead, you must collect weapons and materials from the arena and use Fuse to create workable equipment.

2. Collect the basic equipment

Move to the equipment area and take the available basic weapons. A Long Stick is particularly useful because its reach combines well with a heavy melee material. The arena also contains a Spiked Iron Ball and a Boulder, both of which can be attached to weapons.

3. Create a strong fused weapon

This produces a powerful weapon with enough reach to keep the weaker constructs at a safer distance. The fused weapon is also useful for breaking the boulders supporting the elevated enemy.

A Boulder can also be fused to a weapon. It is less convenient for every stage of the fight, but it provides another heavy option and can help with destructible terrain.

4. Use stealth and cover

The arena gives Link room to move, so avoid charging directly into the group. Crouching and approaching from the side can create a better opening, particularly if Link has only a few hearts. Large rocks and other terrain features provide temporary cover while you decide which enemy to attack.

5. Defeat the close-range Constructs

Several Soldier Constructs patrol or pursue Link at ground level. They are relatively weak, but their numbers can make the room dangerous if Link stands still. Keep moving, attack after their strikes and use the reach of the fused Long Stick to avoid unnecessary contact damage.

The shrine’s challenge is effectively complete only after all enemies have been defeated. The exit opens once the Construct group has been cleared.

6. Deal with the elevated ranged Construct

One Construct attacks from a raised position with a bow. It is a priority target because it can continue damaging Link while the ground enemies close in. You can either climb towards it or use the fused weapon to break the boulders beneath its platform, bringing it down to a more manageable position.

Some walkthroughs also recommend using the shrine’s Fire Fruit with a bow against the elevated enemy. This can provide a quick ranged attack, but the precise approach is optional rather than a required mechanic.

7. Collect the treasure

After the Constructs are defeated, search the route towards the exit and open the shrine chest. It contains a Spring Shield. The shield is optional, but it is the shrine’s only chest reward and should not be overlooked if you are collecting every shrine treasure.

8. Claim the Light of Blessing

Interact with the green altar at the end of the shrine to receive one Light of Blessing. The altar also restores Link’s health, and activating the completed shrine establishes it as a fast-travel point.

3. Create a strong fused weapon: The clearest intended solution is

  1. 01
    Pick up the Long Stick.
  2. 02
    Locate the Spiked Iron Ball.
  3. 03
Use Fuse to attach the ball to the stick.
  4. 04
Use the resulting heavy weapon against the Soldier Constructs.

Enemies and combat resources

Enemies

The available enemy group is fixed as part of the shrine’s trial rather than a random encounter. The shrine is an enclosed Proving Grounds challenge, so outside overworld enemies do not wander into it during normal play.

Shrine-provided equipment and materials

The exact positioning of equipment is more important than the raw value of the items. The Long Stick and Spiked Iron Ball are the most consistently useful pairing because they create a long-reach melee weapon suitable for both the ground enemies and the destructible support beneath the ranged Construct.

Rewards and missable content

The Spring Shield is the main missable item. The shrine does not appear to contain a separate hidden side chamber or a second chest in the researched walkthroughs. The most important completion requirement is simply to defeat every Construct before approaching the altar.

Related locations and separation notes

The shrine is classified among the Central Hyrule shrines, while some guides describe its immediate position more specifically as Hyrule Field or Forest of Time. These labels describe different levels of geographic grouping rather than contradictory shrine locations.
