About this guide
Spoiler warning: The guide reveals the shrine’s puzzle solutions, chest reward and completion reward.
Overview
Tajikats Shrine, also known as Building with Logs, is a Shrine of Light in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. It stands on the surface of Hyrule beside Riverside Stable, on the south side of Whistling Hill in the wider Hyrule Field area. Its trial is a compact tutorial in using Ultrahand to join logs into ramps, bridges and a raft.
This guide covers the shrine interior, its immediate exterior setting and the directly relevant nearby connection at Riverside Stable. It does not treat all of Hyrule Field, West Necluda or the Hylia River as part of Tajikats Shrine itself.
Location and boundaries
Surface setting
Tajikats Shrine is on the south side of Whistling Hill, immediately by Riverside Stable. It is in the southern part of the Hyrule Field region, close to the Hylia River and the routes leading towards Necluda. It is also described by some guides as being southeast of Lookout Landing Skyview Tower or northwest of the Hylia River.
The stable is an important navigation landmark, but it is not part of the shrine’s interior challenge. The shrine’s scope is best divided as follows:
Reaching the shrine
The easiest approach for a player who has unlocked the relevant map is to launch from Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower and glide west towards the shrine. The tower is not required, however. You can also reach the area overland by following the roads through Hyrule Field towards Riverside Stable.
Named places directly connected with the shrine
Riverside Stable is the most useful practical connection. It gives the shrine a recognisable destination and makes Tajikats a convenient stop during journeys between central Hyrule and the eastern or southern regions.

| Name | Details |
|---|---|
| Tajikats Shrine exterior | the glowing shrine structure and its immediate approach. |
| Tajikats Shrine interior | the enclosed Building with Logs trial, chest and altar. |
| Riverside Stable | a separate nearby location that provides a useful travel and resupply landmark. |
| Whistling Hill | the surrounding named terrain feature, not a shrine subarea. |
| Stakijat Lightroot | the corresponding Depths location, separate from the surface shrine. |
Reaching the shrine: A practical route is
- 01Travel through Hyrule Field towards Riverside Stable.
- 02Use the stable’s large buildings and nearby road as landmarks.
- 03Look for the shrine on the hill immediately beside the stable.
- 04Activate the shrine before entering so it becomes a fast-travel point.
- 05Enter only when you are ready to use Ultrahand, as the trial begins with construction almost immediately.

The shrine’s design and purpose
Tajikats is a construction tutorial disguised as a simple traversal shrine. Rather than asking Link to manipulate switches or fight enemies, it supplies logs in stages and expects him to work out how to turn them into useful structures.
The shrine is forgiving. There is usually more than one workable arrangement, and the player does not need to reproduce one exact solution. The important principle is to build something long enough, stable enough or buoyant enough to cross the next obstacle.
---
The trial gradually introduces three related ideas
- 01A single log can act as a ramp.
- 02Several logs can be joined into a bridge or platform.
- 03A group of logs can be transformed into a floating craft.
Walkthrough: Building with Logs
1. Make the first ramp
At the beginning of the shrine, a log is available near the first raised ledge.
The exact angle is not important. If the log slides away, rotate it so that it rests more securely against the ledge before climbing.
2. Join the next logs
The next section contains two logs and a raised point or narrow incline.
A V-shaped arrangement is one commonly used solution because the logs can brace against the sides of the slope. Other arrangements work as long as they create a route to the upper platform. Game8 describes this part as joining logs and using them to reach the next area, while other walkthroughs recommend carrying the structure forward for later use.
3. Build a longer bridge
The following area has a wider stretch of water and more logs.
A reliable method is to join four logs into a long platform, then attach additional logs at one end to form a ramp towards the higher ledge. The shrine does not require a particular number of logs. It only requires a structure that reaches both the far side and the upper platform.
Practical tip: Make the bridge longer than you think you need. A short bridge may reach the water’s edge but leave Link unable to climb the final lip.
4. Continue upwards
The shrine is designed to reward forward planning. A structure that was useful in the previous room may still be reusable, although rebuilding it is usually quicker than trying to drag an awkward arrangement through a narrow passage.
5. Build the raft
In the upper section, logs can be joined into a floating raft. Fans are also available.
A simple raft is enough. You do not need a complicated vehicle, multiple fans or a specific orientation beyond placing the fan so that its thrust moves the raft across the water.
If the raft spins, attach the fan more centrally or add a second log to widen the base. If it travels in the wrong direction, recall it, reposition it or simply build another raft. This is a fixed shrine puzzle rather than a procedural construction challenge, so the available materials and overall layout do not change between visits.
6. Collect the optional chest
Before going directly to the altar, inspect the waterway and the side area around the final section. The shrine contains a chest holding a Spiky Shield. Neoseeker specifically identifies the chest as being reached by using the raft and notes that the shield is the reward inside.
The chest is optional for shrine completion, but it counts towards the shrine’s treasure collection and is worth taking before leaving.
7. Claim the Light of Blessing
The Light of Blessing is awarded for completing the shrine rather than for opening the chest. Four Lights of Blessing can be exchanged at a Goddess Statue for a Heart Container or Stamina Vessel, subject to the normal exchange system.

- 01Activate Ultrahand.
- 02Pick up the log.
- 03Place one end on the lower floor and angle the other end towards the higher ledge.
- 04Climb the log to reach the next level.
2. Join the next logs
- 01Lift both logs with Ultrahand.
- 02Attach them together to form a wider, more stable climbing surface.
- 03Place the joined logs across the gap or against the next rise.
- 04Climb over them.
4. Continue upwards: Once the bridge reaches the upper ledge
- 01Walk across it.
- 02Retrieve the structure if necessary.
- 03Move towards the next construction area.
- 04Look for the collection of logs and Zonai devices near the water.
5. Build the raft
- 01Join two or more logs side by side to create a raft base.
- 02Attach a fan to the rear or side of the raft.
- 03Place the raft in the water.
- 04Strike or activate the fan to propel it forward.
- 05Steer towards the far platform and altar.
6. Collect the optional chest: A practical collection route is
- 01Build the raft.
- 02Use it to reach the side platform containing the chest.
- 03Open the chest and collect the Spiky Shield.
- 04Reposition or rebuild the raft.
- 05Travel to the final altar.

- 01Climb the stairs.
- 02Approach the glowing altar.
- 03Examine it to complete the shrine.
- 04Receive a Light of Blessing.
Rewards and inventory
The Spiky Shield is a fixed shrine chest reward in the guides consulted, not a random drop. The Light of Blessing is also fixed.
The shrine does not contain a boss, combat arena, miniboss or enemy encounter. Its challenge is entirely based on construction and traversal.

Rewards and inventory
| Reward | Type | How to obtain |
|---|---|---|
| Spiky Shield | Optional chest item | Reach the side platform in the final water section |
| Light of Blessing | Shrine completion reward | Examine the altar after completing the trial |
Enemies, hazards and failure points
Enemies
No enemies are reported inside Tajikats Shrine. The player’s attention can therefore remain on Ultrahand construction rather than combat preparation.
Main hazards
Falling does not permanently damage the shrine’s layout. Recover the pieces with Ultrahand, rebuild them or start the section again.

Nearby connections
Riverside Stable
Riverside Stable is the nearest named facility and the clearest landmark for finding Tajikats Shrine. The shrine is described as being directly next to or just north of the stable, depending on the map viewpoint.
The stable should be treated as a separate location rather than a shrine subarea. It is useful for:
The available shrine references do not establish every service or NPC at Riverside Stable, so this guide does not assign stable functions to Tajikats Shrine itself.
Whistling Hill
Whistling Hill is the terrain feature immediately associated with the shrine’s position. Nintendo Life’s shrine listing places Tajikats on the south side of the hill, next to Riverside Stable.
The hill is a navigation aid, not an additional section of the shrine. Do not confuse the broader hill area with the enclosed Building with Logs challenge.
Hylia River
The shrine lies near the Hylia River. Several guides use the river as a directional reference, describing Tajikats as northwest of it or on the river’s nearby surface area.
The river is not part of the shrine trial. The water inside the shrine is an artificial puzzle element and should not be treated as a continuation of the exterior river.
Stakijat Lightroot
Zelda Dungeon lists Stakijat Lightroot as Tajikats Shrine’s Depths counterpart. This relationship is useful for map planning, but the Lightroot is a separate location in the Depths and is not accessible through the shrine interior.
---
Progression and missable content
Tajikats Shrine does not appear to have a story-state variant or a known progression lock. Its puzzle can be completed as soon as the player reaches it and can use Ultrahand.
The chest is not described as missable through story progression, and the shrine does not have a known time-limited event or quest-state version. If you leave without opening it, you can return later through fast travel and collect it.
