Overview
O-ogim Shrine is a Shrine of Light in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. It stands beside the water beneath the cliffs of Lanayru Promenade, in the Lanayru Great Spring area. The shrine is not immediately accessible as a normal interior trial. Instead, Link must recover its green crystal from Lanayru Road South Cave and carry it back as part of The Lanayru Road Crystal shrine quest. Once opened, the shrine itself is a short Rauru’s Blessing chamber containing a Big Battery and a Light of Blessing.

Location and surrounding area
O-ogim Shrine is on the surface, south of the Lanayru Heights area and close to the Lanayru Promenade. It is positioned near a broad waterfall and a pool of water beneath the surrounding cliffs. The shrine entrance can be easy to miss if you approach from above, since the most useful approach is often to descend towards the water rather than search the upper cliff paths.
The surrounding area should not be confused with the shrine itself. Lanayru Promenade is the wider surface landmark, while Lanayru Road South Cave is a separate underground subarea used by the shrine quest. The cave is not an interior section of O-ogim Shrine, and the shrine does not become accessible until the crystal has been returned.
Verified named locations in scope
The shrine is also commonly described as being in East Necluda by some guides, while other mapping sources place it under Lanayru Great Spring. These labels reflect overlapping regional map conventions rather than different shrines.

Access and routes
From Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower
One practical route is to launch from Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower and glide towards the shrine. This is particularly useful if the shrine has not yet been activated, because the tower provides a clear aerial approach to the water and cliffs below. Bring enough stamina or stamina-restoring food if you intend to glide directly from the tower.
From the surface
If approaching on foot, head towards the water beneath the cliffs around Lanayru Promenade. Look for the shrine entrance near the waterfall. Activating the entrance reveals the green beam leading towards the crystal and begins The Lanayru Road Crystal.
From the Depths
The shrine’s Depths counterpart is Migo-o Lightroot. As with other surface shrines, its position can be used as a useful reference when exploring below Hyrule, although the Lightroot is not an alternative entrance to O-ogim Shrine.
The Lanayru Road Crystal
Activating O-ogim Shrine starts the shrine quest The Lanayru Road Crystal. The quest’s purpose is to find the green crystal indicated by the beam and bring it back to the shrine entrance.
Practical advice
The quest does not require a complicated aircraft. A basic Wing-and-Fan construction is sufficient. If the machine starts drifting, place the Fan centrally and keep the crystal close to the middle of the Wing. You can also carry the crystal part of the way by hand and build the vehicle only for the final crossing.
The waterfall and surrounding cliffs make a purely ground-based return awkward. The flying-machine route is therefore more than a convenience: it is the intended solution presented by the local device layout.
Walkthrough
- 01Activate O-ogim Shrine. Examine the shrine entrance near the water. A green beam will appear and point towards the crystal.
Walkthrough
- 01Follow the beam towards Lanayru Road South Cave. The trail leads towards the cave behind the waterfall. Enter the cave and continue following the beam.
Walkthrough
- 01Break through the rock barrier. Use a weapon fused with a boulder or a similar rock-breaking method. Bomb Flowers can also be used if available. A hammer-type weapon is usually the most economical option.
Walkthrough
- 01Collect the green crystal. Once the barrier is removed, use Ultrahand to lift the crystal and bring it back towards the cave entrance.
Walkthrough
- 01Build an aerial vehicle. Near the route out, use the available Zonai devices to construct a simple flying machine. The commonly recommended arrangement uses a Wing and a Fan. Attach the crystal securely to the vehicle before activating it.
Walkthrough
- 01Use the runway and fly towards the shrine. Position the aircraft on the runway leading out of the cave. Activate the Fan and steer towards the shrine across the water. The exact handling depends on the vehicle’s balance, so avoid attaching the crystal at an angle that makes the machine roll.
Walkthrough
- 01Return the crystal to the shrine. Land near O-ogim Shrine, detach the crystal and place it on the shrine entrance. The entrance will activate fully, allowing Link to enter.
Inside O-ogim Shrine
O-ogim Shrine is a Rauru’s Blessing shrine. The actual shrine chamber contains no combat encounter or environmental puzzle. The challenge is entirely in finding and returning the crystal outside.
Shrine inventory
The Big Battery is a Zonai device-related reward that increases Link’s available energy capacity when used as part of the game’s Zonai energy progression. The shrine itself does not provide a weapon, armour piece, rupee reward or boss material.
Shrine completion
- 01Enter the shrine after returning the crystal.
- 02Walk forward to the treasure chest.
- 03Open the chest to receive a Big Battery.
- 04Continue to the altar.
- 05Examine the altar to receive the Light of Blessing.

| Altar | Light of Blessing | Awarded for completing the shrine |
Enemies, hazards and secrets
O-ogim Shrine has no boss and no internal enemy encounter. The associated cave and exterior route are the parts where ordinary exploration hazards may matter.
The crystal quest is not normally permanently missable. If a vehicle is destroyed or the crystal is dropped, it can be recovered and the construction can be rebuilt using nearby materials or additional Zonai devices. The fixed chest reward and Light of Blessing remain available once the shrine is opened.

Lore and series context
O-ogim Shrine belongs to the Shrine of Light network established in Tears of the Kingdom. Its structure follows the game’s recurring pattern of placing a shrine entrance in the world and sometimes requiring an external task before the interior can be entered. In this case, the shrine’s challenge is represented by the crystal-retrieval quest rather than a conventional shrine puzzle.
The shrine does not have a known story character, settlement, shop or faction associated with it. Its importance is primarily practical: it provides a fast-travel point, a Light of Blessing and a Big Battery, while also linking the surface geography around Lanayru Promenade with the cave route behind the waterfall.
