Key takeaways

  • Natak Shrine is in the Sokkala Sky Archipelago, above the Akkala region.
  • The commonly listed coordinates are approximately 3670, 1485, 1157, although guide sources vary slightly depending on whether they record the shrine terminal, entrance or map marker.
  • The shrine becomes accessible after completing The Sokkala Sky Crystal.
  • The crystal is inside a nearby large spherical island Link must rotate the sphere so its opening faces the shrine island, then launch the crystal out using a spring platform.
  • The shrine interior contains one chest with an Enduring Elixir and awards one Light of Blessing.
  • There are no confirmed shops, residents, ordinary NPCs, enemies or boss encounters associated with Natak Shrine itself.

About this guide

Scope note: This guide covers Natak Shrine, its shrine island, the nearby rotating spherical island, and the small staging island used to reach the area. It does not treat the whole Sokkala Sky Archipelago as part of the shrine itself. Other islands and nearby sky landmarks are separate locations.

Overview

Natak Shrine is a Shrine of Light in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. It lies in the Sokkala Sky Archipelago, within the Akkala Highlands Sky region. Unlike a conventional combat or puzzle shrine, Natak Shrine is a Rauru’s Blessing shrine: the main challenge takes place outside, during The Sokkala Sky Crystal Shrine Quest. Once the crystal is returned, the shrine contains only a chest and its altar.

Location and boundaries

Natak Shrine stands on a small sky island in the Sokkala Sky Archipelago, north-east of central Hyrule. The island is close to a large, hollow, rotating sphere. The shrine’s quest area consists of three practical parts:

The sphere is part of the shrine quest route, but it is not the shrine interior and should not be confused with Natak Shrine itself. The wider Sokkala Sky Archipelago contains other islands and sky objects that are separate from this shrine’s immediate challenge area.

The shrine is most reliably reached by launching from Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower and gliding south-east. Several guides recommend first landing on a nearby island with Zonai devices, then constructing an aircraft for the final crossing.

Verified named locations within the shrine scope

The large sphere and the small launch island do not appear to have consistently established individual proper names in the cited guide sources. They are therefore described functionally rather than given invented names.

Access and recommended route

Route from Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower

A larger battery reserve is helpful, but the journey can also be made with careful use of Zonai Charges or by combining existing devices with the parts available on the islands. The exact device arrangement is not a fixed puzzle solution, so aircraft construction is part of the game’s normal physics-based approach rather than a single prescribed design.

Route from Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower

  1. 01
Travel to Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower.
  2. 02
Launch from the tower and glide south-east towards the Sokkala Sky Archipelago.
  3. 03
Aim first for a reachable sky island rather than trying to glide directly to Natak Shrine. The shrine island may be beyond comfortable gliding range, depending on Link’s stamina and equipment.
  4. 04
On the staging island, use the available Zonai devices to build an aircraft. A Wing with Fans is sufficient, while a Steering Stick makes the trip easier to control.
  5. 05
Fly to the island containing Natak Shrine.
  6. 06
Activate the shrine terminal. This starts The Sokkala Sky Crystal and creates the green beam leading towards the sphere.

The Sokkala Sky Crystal walkthrough

1. Activate Natak Shrine

When Link reaches the shrine island, examine Natak Shrine. The shrine does not open immediately. Instead, the game begins The Sokkala Sky Crystal, and a green beam points towards the nearby spherical island.

Activating the shrine also provides a useful fast-travel point, even before the crystal has been returned.

2. Reach the spherical island

Use the launch pad on Natak Shrine’s island to propel Link towards the sphere. The sphere has an opening through which Link can enter. If the initial launch does not carry Link far enough, use the paraglider and any available Zonai devices to correct the approach.

Inside the sphere is the green Shrine Crystal and a small model that represents the sphere’s orientation.

3. Rotate the model

Use Ultrahand to rotate the smaller model inside the sphere. Rotating the model rotates the actual spherical island outside it.

The objective is to align the sphere’s opening with the direction of the shrine island. The launch platform inside the sphere must also be positioned so that its springs will send the crystal through the opening and back towards Natak Shrine.

This is the central puzzle. There is no need to rotate the sphere to a particular compass direction as long as the opening and launch trajectory line up correctly.

4. Load the crystal onto the spring platform

Move the green crystal onto the spring-powered launch platform. The platform is made from springs and attached components. Place the crystal securely on it, then strike the device with a weapon to activate the launch.

If the sphere is aligned correctly, the spring sends the crystal through the opening and towards the shrine island. Link can follow using the same route or glide after it.

If the crystal falls, it can be recovered and repositioned. Guide sources note that it returns to the sphere if it is lost, so a failed launch does not permanently remove the quest item.

5. Return the crystal to Natak Shrine

Carry the green crystal to the shrine terminal. Placing it at the shrine completes The Sokkala Sky Crystal and unlocks Natak Shrine.

Shrine interior and rewards

Natak Shrine is a Rauru’s Blessing shrine. This means that the external crystal quest is considered the trial, and the interior contains no additional puzzle sequence or combat room.

Proceed along the short interior path and open the single chest. The chest contains an Enduring Elixir. Continue to the altar and interact with it to receive a Light of Blessing.

Natak Shrine inventory

The Enduring Elixir is particularly useful before long climbs, gliding journeys or sky-island crossings because it improves the duration of Link’s stamina wheel. It is a fixed chest reward rather than a random drop.

Hazards and practical advice

Stamina and battery management

The most significant danger is not an enemy but falling into the void. Bring at least one stamina-restoring meal or elixir if Link has limited stamina. Extra Energy Cells, Zonai Charges or a large-battery aircraft make the approach more forgiving.

Aircraft control

A Wing with multiple Fans can travel quickly, but it may be difficult to steer without a Steering Stick. If the craft begins to drift away from the sphere, land on an intermediate island where possible rather than wasting all available battery power trying to correct the flight.

Crystal launch alignment

Do not activate the springs until the sphere’s opening is aligned with Natak Shrine’s island. If the crystal is launched at the wrong angle, it may fall into the sky below. The crystal can be recovered or reset, but correcting the orientation first is faster.

Falling equipment

Avoid dropping essential weapons or devices inside the sphere. The interior’s curved geometry can make loose objects awkward to retrieve, particularly after the sphere is rotated.
