About this guide
Scope note: This guide covers Moshapin Shrine, its immediate entrance area, Lake Intenoch Cave and the directly associated Shrine Quest. It does not treat the wider Eldin Canyon region, Gero Pond, Foothill Stable or Death Mountain as part of the shrine itself.
Introduction
Moshapin Shrine is a Shrine of Light hidden inside Lake Intenoch Cave, in the Eldin Canyon region. It is not a conventional puzzle shrine. Instead, its entrance is sealed until Link completes the associated Shrine Quest, The Lake Intenoch Cave Crystal. Once the crystal reaches the shrine’s exterior platform, Moshapin Shrine activates and becomes a short Rauru’s Blessing challenge containing one treasure chest and a Light of Blessing.
The most important part of the location is therefore the cave approach rather than the shrine interior. Lake Intenoch Cave contains very high heat, hostile creatures, breakable rock barriers and a lava crossing. The shrine itself is effectively a reward chamber.
Location and boundaries
Lake Intenoch Cave
Lake Intenoch Cave is the relevant subarea for reaching Moshapin Shrine. Its entrance is close to Gero Pond, on a route north of Foothill Stable. The cave is distinct from the outdoor pond, the stable and the surrounding Eldin Canyon landscape. Those places are useful navigation references, but they are not shrine subareas.
The cave is dangerously hot. Link should have heat protection before entering deeply, even though the area is not a conventional combat dungeon. Flamebreaker armour is the most straightforward solution, but Fireproof Elixirs also work.
Moshapin Shrine
The shrine appears only after the crystal has been brought to its matching shrine pedestal. Before activation, the shrine’s entrance is not usable. After activation, Link can enter normally and fast travel to it in the future.
The shrine’s interior consists of a simple path over a void. There is no combat trial, moving machinery or multi-stage puzzle. A stone treasure chest sits on the central platform, while the Rauru and Sonia statue is at the far end.
Named places within the immediate scope
Gero Pond and Foothill Stable are nearby reference points rather than parts of the shrine interior. Nipahsom Lightroot is the corresponding Depths location, not an extension of Lake Intenoch Cave. The surface shrine and its Depths counterpart should therefore be kept separate.

How to reach Moshapin Shrine
Recommended route
The shrine quest begins when Link reaches and interacts with the crystal. The objective marker then indicates the shrine’s position, making the remaining route easier to follow.
---
Recommended route
- 01Travel to Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower, or approach from Foothill Stable.
- 02Head north-east towards Gero Pond.
- 03Locate the entrance to Lake Intenoch Cave beside the pond.
- 04Equip flame-resistant gear or consume a Fireproof Elixir.
- 05Enter the cave and deal with the Horriblins.
- 06Break through the rock barrier on the right-hand side of the entrance.
- 07Follow the passage towards the larger chamber containing the green crystal.
- 08Examine the crystal to begin The Lake Intenoch Cave Crystal.
- 09Build a device or platform capable of carrying the crystal over the lava.
- 10Bring the crystal to the glowing shrine marker.
- 11Place it on the shrine pedestal to activate Moshapin Shrine.
- 12Enter the shrine and collect the chest before claiming the Light of Blessing.
The Lake Intenoch Cave Crystal walkthrough
1. Prepare for the cave
The cave’s heat is the main preparation requirement. Use one of the following:
Do not confuse heat protection with ordinary cold or temperature resistance. The Eldin cave environment can damage Link continuously without the correct protection.
2. Clear the first rock barrier
Horriblins occupy parts of the opening area. Defeat them or move past them, then clear the breakable rocks. Rock-fused weapons are reliable and conserve valuable explosive resources. Yunobo can also destroy rock barriers if he is available.
There are multiple breakable routes near the entrance. Guides generally recommend taking the right-hand route and following it towards the larger chamber where the crystal is located.
3. Find the green crystal
The crystal rests in a wider chamber beyond the rock passages. Interact with it to start The Lake Intenoch Cave Crystal. A green beam or marker points towards Moshapin Shrine’s intended position.
At this stage, the shrine is not yet accessible. The crystal must be carried to the marker.
4. Cross the lava
The exact construction can vary, but the safest general approach is to create a solid platform and attach the crystal to it.
One published walkthrough describes creating a stone platform, attaching a Fan at the rear and fixing the crystal to the front to balance the vehicle. Other guides emphasise Hydrant-created igneous rock. These are alternative solutions rather than contradictory requirements.
Practical construction tips
The game does not require one exact design. The objective is simply to transport the crystal to its pedestal.
5. Activate the shrine
Carry the crystal behind the lavafall or to the marked shrine platform, depending on the route taken. Place it beside the shrine’s matching base. The shrine then rises or becomes active, and the quest completes.
Moshapin Shrine is now available as a fast-travel point.

Moshapin Shrine walkthrough
Moshapin Shrine is labelled Rauru’s Blessing. That designation means the external challenge has already served as the main test, so the interior contains a reward rather than another puzzle.
Shrine inventory
The shield is fixed shrine treasure, not a random drop. The Light of Blessing is the standard completion reward for this Shrine of Light.

| End of shrine | Light of Blessing | Interact with the Rauru and Sonia statue |
Enemies, hazards and useful resources
Enemies
The immediate cave approach is reported to contain Horriblins. The shrine interior itself has no enemy encounter or boss.
Useful abilities and equipment
The exact availability of Yunobo depends on story progression. The shrine can be approached with ordinary fused weapons and Zonai devices, so completion does not require treating Yunobo’s presence as mandatory. The sources consulted agree on the need to clear the cave and cross the lava, but they describe several valid construction methods rather than one fixed solution.
---
Useful abilities and equipment
| Tool or ability | Use |
|---|---|
| Flame-resistant armour | Prevents heat damage |
| Fireproof Elixir | Temporary heat protection |
| Rock-fused weapon | Breaks cave walls |
| Yunobo’s ability | Clears rock barriers |
| Hydrant | Creates igneous rock from lava |
| Splash Fruit | Helps create a temporary solid platform |
| Ice Fruit | Can also create a temporary solid platform |
| Fan | Pushes a platform across lava |
| Steering Stick | Improves control of a Zonai vehicle |
Progression and missability
Moshapin Shrine is not permanently missable. If Link leaves Lake Intenoch Cave before finishing the crystal quest, the cave and crystal remain available.
The chest is easy to overlook because the shrine interior is so short. Always check the central platform before approaching the statue.
---
The main progression states are
- 01Unvisited cave: The shrine has not been reached.
- 02Crystal discovered: The Shrine Quest is active.
- 03Crystal delivered: Moshapin Shrine is activated.
- 04Shrine completed: The chest and Light of Blessing have been collected.

Lore and connections
Moshapin Shrine is a Shrine of Light associated with the Zonai-era Rauru and Sonia statues found throughout Tears of the Kingdom. Its trial name, Rauru’s Blessing, reflects the shrine’s structure: the real challenge lies outside, in reaching the shrine through Lake Intenoch Cave.
The shrine also has a Depths correspondence with Nipahsom Lightroot. This follows the game’s broader surface-to-Depths pattern, in which surface Shrines of Light are vertically associated with Lightroots below. Nipahsom Lightroot should be treated as a connected map relationship rather than part of Moshapin Shrine’s physical interior.
