About this guide

Scope: The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, base game Status: Researched guide. The shrine itself is straightforward, but its surrounding cave and optional side quest contain most of the location’s meaningful content.

Overview

Yomizuk Shrine is a Rauru’s Blessing Shrine of Light hidden at the far end of Tarm Point Cave, on the eastern side of Hyrule in the Lanayru Great Spring region. Reaching the shrine is the real challenge: the cave is flooded, its water level repeatedly rises and falls, and the most natural route involves helping Sasan cross the water to reunite with Finley during the side quest True Treasure.

The shrine is not part of Breath of the Wild, and there is no separate Master Mode or alternate-version layout to account for here. The relevant scope is therefore the Tears of the Kingdom surface location, Tarm Point Cave, the nearby Tarm Point area and its connected optional quest content.

Location and boundaries

Yomizuk Shrine

Yomizuk Shrine is the final destination at the northern end of Tarm Point Cave. The shrine’s interior is a short, empty chamber with a central path, a treasure chest and the Rauru and Sonia statue terminal. It should be treated as a distinct location from the cave itself, even though the cave is the route required to reach it.

Tarm Point Cave

Tarm Point Cave is the substantial part of this location. It begins at an opening near the ruins above Tarm Point and extends through a flooded cavern towards the shrine. The cave’s defining feature is its fluctuating water level. Water flows through the cave, exposing some rocks and covering others as it rises and falls.

Tarm Point and Lodrum Headland

Tarm Point is the coastal point where Lanayru Bay meets the Lanayru Sea. The cave entrance is not directly on the waterline. It is reached from the higher ground around the southern end of Lodrum Headland, near old ruins. This distinction matters because searching the shoreline alone can lead you past the correct entrance.

Named locations within the practical scope

The wider Lanayru Great Spring is the regional hierarchy, not a subarea contained entirely within the cave. Places such as Zora’s Domain, Mount Lanayru and Lanayru Wetlands are nearby regional connections rather than parts of Yomizuk Shrine’s immediate location.

How to reach Yomizuk Shrine

The entrance is easier to identify from above than from the coast. If you are searching with the map, place a marker near Tarm Point and inspect the higher ground around the ruins rather than looking for a conventional doorway at sea level.

Recommended route

  1. 01
Travel to the eastern Lanayru coastline, approaching the southern end of Lodrum Headland.
  2. 02
Look for the ruins and the cave opening on the elevated ground around Tarm Point.
  3. 03
Enter Tarm Point Cave and light the route with Brightbloom Seeds if necessary.
  4. 04
Speak to Sasan near the early section of the flooded passage if you want to undertake True Treasure.
  5. 05
Either help Sasan cross on the raft or make your own careful crossing by using the exposed rocks and the changing water level.
  6. 06
Continue north through the cave until you find the shrine entrance.
  7. 07
Enter Yomizuk Shrine, open the chest and activate the shrine terminal.

Tarm Point Cave exploration

The flooded passage

The water is not permanently at one level. When it drops, more rock surfaces become available for standing and recovering stamina. When it rises, Link can swim over obstacles that were previously exposed. The safest approach is to avoid treating the cave as one continuous swim.

Use the rocks as rest points and watch the water before committing to a long crossing. If you become stranded on a rock, waiting for the water to rise can be safer than attempting to swim around the obstruction.

The raft

A pre-built raft is available in the cave for the crossing associated with Sasan. The raft’s sail can be driven by wind. A weapon fused with a Korok Frond is the simplest early-game solution, though other wind-producing equipment can also work if available. Thonky specifically recommends using a Korok Frond-fused weapon and standing behind the sail to push the raft forward.

If you are completing True Treasure, speak to Sasan before attempting to move the raft. Sasan needs to be seated on the boat first. Moving or using the raft without following the quest step can prevent the intended crossing from progressing correctly.

Side passage and Bubbulfrog

A passage blocked by breakable rocks leads to a side room containing the cave’s Bubbulfrog. Clear the obstruction with a weapon, Bomb Flower or another suitable method, then look for the frog in the revealed area. Defeating it produces a Bubbul Gem, which can later be exchanged with Koltin.

This is a separate cave collectible, not a shrine reward. If the Tarm Point Cave icon on your map does not have its completion mark, check that you have collected the Bubbul Gem rather than assuming that reaching Yomizuk Shrine completed the cave.

Chests

The cave inventory above is based on location-specific directories, but natural material availability can be affected by whether an item has already been collected and by normal world respawn behaviour. The listed items should not be treated as a guarantee that every resource will be visible on every visit.

True Treasure side quest

Starting the quest

True Treasure can be started by speaking to Sasan in Tarm Point Cave. Another quest directory identifies Kodah at the Seabed Inn as the starting point for the quest chain, while the cave itself is where Sasan’s portion becomes active. The practical requirement for the shrine route is to find Sasan in the flooded cave and agree to help him reach Finley.

Quest walkthrough

The reward is two Opals in total, with Sasan and Finley each contributing one.

Is the quest required?

No. True Treasure is optional. You can reach the shrine without completing it by swimming between the exposed rocks and taking advantage of the changing water level. However, the raft route is generally safer and more reliable, particularly if you have limited stamina or do not want to risk drowning Sasan.

Characters and their roles

They are not permanent residents of a settlement, and neither provides a general shop or repeatable service. Their presence is tied to the cave and the side quest.

Quest walkthrough

  1. 01
    Enter Tarm Point Cave.
  2. 02
Find Sasan near the flooded route.
  3. 03
Speak to him to begin or advance True Treasure.
  4. 04
Prepare a wind-making weapon, preferably by fusing a Korok Frond to a club or another weapon.
  5. 05
Talk to Sasan again and choose the option to take him across.
  6. 06
Make sure Sasan is seated before moving the raft.
  7. 07
Put the raft gently into the water.
  8. 08
Stand behind the sail and use the wind-producing weapon to propel the boat.
  9. 09
Steer around the rocks. If the raft becomes stuck, wait for the water level to rise before continuing.
  10. 10
Reach the far end of the cave and speak to Finley.
  11. 11
Collect the quest reward from Sasan and Finley.

Yomizuk Shrine walkthrough

Shrine interior

Yomizuk Shrine is a Rauru’s Blessing shrine. This means the external route or associated task is the challenge, while the shrine chamber itself has no puzzle sequence or combat encounter. The interior contains a short path through a void, a single chest and the final shrine terminal.

Completing the shrine also establishes it as a fast-travel point. Four Lights of Blessing can be exchanged at a Goddess Statue for a heart container or stamina vessel, subject to the normal upgrade choices in the game.

Shrine directory

There is no boss, miniboss, combat trial or shrine-specific ability requirement.

Hazards and practical advice

Drowning

The principal danger is running out of stamina while swimming. Do not begin a long crossing unless you can see the next rock or platform. Use stamina-restoring food if you intend to swim directly, and remember that standing on exposed rock allows stamina to recover.

Moving water and rocks

The water can make the same route behave differently on two attempts. Rocks that block the raft at low water may become passable once the level rises. Avoid forcing the raft at an awkward angle, especially while Sasan is aboard.

Cave darkness

Brightbloom Seeds are useful for revealing the cave’s ceiling, rocks and side passages. Keep some spare seeds available rather than using all of them near the entrance.

Breakable rock

The side route to the Bubbulfrog is blocked by breakable material. Carry a basic hammer-type weapon or use Bomb Flowers so that the route does not require repeated weapon durability loss.

Quest failure risk

If Sasan falls into the water or the raft is moved carelessly, you may need to restart the crossing. The safest sequence is to talk to Sasan, seat him on the raft, place it gently in the water and then begin propulsion.

For a complete visit, use this order

  1. 01
Mark the cave entrance from the surface.
  2. 02
Enter with Brightbloom Seeds and at least one rock-breaking option.
  3. 03
Speak to Sasan before moving the raft.
  4. 04
Complete True Treasure if you want the two Opals.
  5. 05
On the return journey, investigate the blocked side passage.
  6. 06
Defeat the Bubbulfrog and collect the Bubbul Gem.
  7. 07
Search the northern water section for the floating chest and Soldier’s Shield.
  8. 08
    Enter Yomizuk Shrine.
  9. 09
    Collect the Diamond.
  10. 10
Activate the terminal for the Light of Blessing.
  11. 11
Confirm that the cave’s Bubbulfrog has been collected if you are tracking cave completion.

Lore and continuity

Yomizuk Shrine has no substantial area-specific story revelation. Its importance is functional and structural: it is one of the many Shrines of Light established throughout Hyrule, while its associated quest provides a small story about Sasan trying to reunite with Finley. The shrine’s location also has a Depths correspondence, with Kuzimoy Lightroot beneath it, reflecting the game’s broader surface-to-Depths spatial relationship.

The shrine’s trial name, Rauru’s Blessing, distinguishes it from shrines where Link must solve an internal puzzle. Here, the flooded cave, optional escort-style quest and environmental navigation are the meaningful obstacles.
