About this guide
Scope note: This guide covers Ukoojisi Shrine itself, the immediate floating islands used to reach it, and the associated shrine quest, The West Necluda Sky Crystal. It does not treat the whole of West Necluda, the surface region beneath the archipelago, or nearby but separate shrines such as Josiu Shrine as part of Ukoojisi Shrine.

Introduction
Ukoojisi Shrine is a Rauru’s Blessing shrine in the West Necluda Sky Archipelago. Unlike a conventional shrine, it contains no internal puzzle. Its challenge is the journey to the entrance: after examining the shrine, Link must follow a green shrine crystal to a neighbouring floating island, recover it from a small cave, construct an aircraft, and fly the crystal back.
The shrine is therefore best understood as a combined sky-island exploration and Zonai-device construction challenge. It tests several early-to-mid-game skills at once:
Once the crystal is delivered, the shrine becomes a quick and worthwhile stop. Its chest contains a Mighty Zonaite Shield, and the altar awards a Light of Blessing. The shrine can then be used as a fast-travel point.
---
Geography and boundaries
Ukoojisi Shrine stands on a small island within the West Necluda Sky Archipelago. This is a sky-region designation, not a name for every island visible from the shrine. The shrine’s associated challenge extends across several nearby floating platforms and islands, but it does not include the entire West Necluda sky region.
The surface land far below is part of West Necluda, but it is not a subarea of Ukoojisi Shrine. Likewise, nearby sky shrines and their crystal routes remain separate locations even when they can be seen from the same general region.
Nearby but separate places
The shrine’s exact map placement is commonly given as approximately 1464, -2165, 0585. Guide sources vary slightly in the precision of their displayed coordinates, so the map marker and shrine glow are more useful than treating a single coordinate as an exact boundary.
---
The immediate shrine area consists of
- 01The shrine island, where Ukoojisi Shrine is initially inactive.
- 02Lower and neighbouring platforms, including a platform fitted with rockets.
- 03The crystal island, where the green shrine crystal is hidden.
- 04A small cave or recessed area concealed behind wooden vines.
- 05The device-construction area, where the flying-machine components are available.

Access and recommended preparation
Best route
The most direct approach is to use Popla Foothills Skyview Tower as a launch point, then glide eastwards towards the West Necluda Sky Archipelago. Some guides also describe approaching from the Sahasra Slope area or nearby launch routes, but Popla Foothills Skyview Tower is the clearest and most consistently documented starting point for the shrine.
Stamina-restoring food is useful if you are approaching the islands early in the game. Tulin’s Sage ability, if available, makes the journey easier, but it is not required.
Suggested approach
If you miss the island, do not immediately abandon the attempt. Look for lower platforms, floating debris or Zonai devices that can provide a second route. Falling into the void is the principal danger, but the route is forgiving if you keep the paraglider ready.
---
Suggested approach
- 01Travel to Popla Foothills Skyview Tower.
- 02Launch and glide towards the West Necluda sky islands.
- 03Aim for the island containing the inactive Ukoojisi Shrine.
- 04Land near the shrine and examine it.
- 05Follow the green beam from the shrine to identify the crystal’s destination.
- 06Use the lower platform and its rockets to reach the next island.
- 07Enter the cave behind the wooden vines.
- 08Recover the green crystal.
- 09Build a flying machine.
- 10Attach the crystal and fly back to Ukoojisi Shrine.
The West Necluda Sky Crystal
Examining the inactive shrine begins the shrine quest The West Necluda Sky Crystal. The objective is shown by a green beam extending from Ukoojisi Shrine towards the island holding the crystal.
The quest is not a conventional combat mission. Its difficulty comes from navigation and construction. The crystal must be physically transported back to the shrine, and the most practical solution is to make a small aircraft from the equipment provided on the islands.
The lower platform and rockets
Near the shrine is a lower island or platform containing a Zonai platform fitted with rockets. The rockets are intended to propel the platform towards the next island.
The rocket platform is a route aid rather than a permanent vehicle. Its acceleration can be abrupt, so avoid standing near the edge and keep the paraglider ready.
The wooden vines and cave
The crystal is hidden behind a curtain of wooden vines on a ledge or recessed part of the island. Cut the vines with a sharp weapon. Blunt weapons are less convenient here, and ordinary attacks may not clear the obstruction effectively.
Proceed into the small cave-like space beyond the vines. The green crystal can be moved with Ultrahand. It is usually easiest to pull it out into an open area before constructing the aircraft, rather than trying to build in the confined space.
Named objects and features in the quest area
The available devices are part of the fixed challenge layout. The exact construction is not mandatory, provided the finished machine can carry the crystal and return to the shrine.
---
The lower platform and rockets: To use it
- 01Find the platform with the rockets attached.
- 02Check its orientation before activating it.
- 03If necessary, use Ultrahand to adjust the platform or attach the rockets so they point towards the crystal island.
- 04Stand securely on the platform.
- 05Strike the rockets with a weapon to activate them.
- 06Glide or jump from the resulting launch towards the crystal island.
Building the aircraft
The intended solution uses a Wing as the body of the aircraft, with Fans for propulsion, a Steering Stick for control and Batteries to extend the machine’s operating time. The devices found near the cave provide the necessary parts. Autobuild can also speed up construction if the required components and schematic are available, although manually assembling the machine is straightforward.
A stable basic design
The crystal can be attached directly to the Wing or to another central component. Avoid placing it on the edge, where it may detach or catch on the island during take-off.
Practical construction advice
The shrine quest does not require an elegant or permanent aircraft. A simple, slightly awkward machine is sufficient. The important point is to carry the crystal back to the shrine’s entrance.
---
Returning the crystal
The crystal does not have to remain attached to the vehicle once you return. If the aircraft lands short of the shrine, pick up the crystal and carry it across the remaining distance. The quest completes when the crystal is offered to Ukoojisi Shrine.
After the offering, the shrine activates and its entrance becomes usable.
---
After the aircraft is ready
- 01Use Ultrahand to attach the green crystal.
- 02Place the crystal where it will not obstruct the Steering Stick.
- 03Move the aircraft to a clear launch point.
- 04Board the machine.
- 05Activate the Fans.
- 06Fly towards the island containing Ukoojisi Shrine.
- 07Land near the shrine.
- 08Detach or carry the crystal to the shrine entrance.
- 09Place it in the shrine’s receptacle.
Shrine interior
Ukoojisi Shrine is a Rauru’s Blessing shrine. There is no interior puzzle, combat encounter or device challenge after entry. The construction and traversal outside the shrine are the actual trial.
Walkthrough
The shrine is then complete. Its map icon receives the usual completed-shrine treatment, including the chest marker after the treasure has been collected.
Rewards
The Mighty Zonaite Shield is a fixed reward, not a random drop. The shrine’s challenge does not contain a second chest or an optional hidden interior section according to the available walkthrough evidence.
---
Walkthrough
- 01Enter the activated shrine.
- 02Walk forwards into the reward chamber.
- 03Open the treasure chest.
- 04Collect the Mighty Zonaite Shield.
- 05Approach the altar.
- 06Examine the altar to receive a Light of Blessing.
Rewards
| Reward | Source | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Mighty Zonaite Shield | Treasure chest inside Ukoojisi Shrine | Fixed shrine reward |
| Light of Blessing | Shrine altar | Awarded for completing the shrine |
Enemies, hazards and environmental threats
Ukoojisi Shrine is not associated with a named boss or a required combat arena. The main hazards are environmental:
The construction area is more dangerous than the shrine interior. The green crystal is valuable for quest progression, but it is not permanently missable. If the aircraft is destroyed or the crystal falls, search the lower island and nearby platforms before rebuilding.
Fixed and non-fixed content
There is no evidence that Ukoojisi Shrine uses a randomised internal layout or procedural challenge.

Facilities, services and named characters
Ukoojisi Shrine has no residents, shopkeepers, stable staff, guards or faction representatives. It is a shrine and sky-island challenge area rather than a settlement.
Services
The shrine does not provide a shop, bed, cooking pot, forge, device dispenser or other settlement service. Any Zonai devices used during the quest are part of the challenge environment and should not be treated as a permanent shop or business.

Collectibles and useful objects
The shrine’s principal collectible reward is the chest containing the Mighty Zonaite Shield. The shrine quest also makes use of several fixed Zonai devices.
Verified named or functional objects in scope
The available evidence does not establish a separate Korok Seed, Bubbul Gem, armour piece or additional unique collectible as part of the immediate Ukoojisi Shrine challenge. That should not be read as a claim that the wider West Necluda Sky Archipelago contains no other exploration items. Those would require separate area-by-area research and should not be assigned to this shrine without confirmation.

Recommended exploration route
For a first visit, the following route is efficient:
Route A: Shrine-first
This route minimises wandering and makes the quest marker do most of the navigation work.
Route B: Preparation-first
Use this route if you are early in the game or have limited stamina:
Route B is slower but reduces the chance of falling into the void.
---
Route A: Shrine-first
- 01Launch from Popla Foothills Skyview Tower.
- 02Land on the shrine island.
- 03Examine Ukoojisi Shrine.
- 04Follow the green beam.
- 05Cross using the rocket platform.
- 06Recover the crystal from behind the vines.
- 07Build and test the aircraft.
- 08Return the crystal.
- 09Collect the Mighty Zonaite Shield and Light of Blessing.
Route B: Preparation-first
- 01Cook stamina-restoring food before travelling.
- 02Mark Popla Foothills Skyview Tower and the shrine on the map.
- 03Launch and glide to the nearest safe island.
- 04Pause on intermediate platforms rather than attempting one long glide.
- 05Examine the shrine only after checking the surrounding landing areas.
- 06Complete the rocket-platform section.
- 07Build the aircraft on the broadest available surface.
- 08Return in a single controlled flight.

Lore, series context and trivia
Ukoojisi Shrine belongs to the large set of Shrine of Light challenges introduced in Tears of the Kingdom. Its design reflects the game’s emphasis on player-built vehicles rather than a fixed puzzle solution. The shrine entrance is effectively the reward for solving a transportation problem.
The contrast between the demanding outdoor approach and the empty reward chamber is deliberate. In a Rauru’s Blessing shrine, the game treats reaching the shrine as the trial itself. Ukoojisi is a particularly clear example because the final step requires carrying a physical object across the sky rather than merely finding a hidden entrance.
It should also be kept distinct from similarly named shrines such as Ukouh Shrine. Ukouh is an early Great Sky Island shrine centred on Ultrahand and is a different location with a different quest context. Ukoojisi is the West Necluda sky shrine involving the green crystal and aircraft route.
