Key takeaways
- Motsusis Shrine is inside the South Lomei Labyrinth, not in a separate cave or standalone ruin.
- Its trial is Rauru’s Blessing, so the shrine interior has no puzzle.
- The main challenge is navigating the Surface maze while dealing with Gloom and sand-obscured routes.
- A chest inside contains a Large Zonai Charge.
- Completing the shrine grants one Light of Blessing and unlocks the shrine as a fast-travel point.
- The shrine’s central chamber is also connected with the South Lomei Prophecy, including access to the South Lomei Chasm and the next stage of the labyrinth sequence.

Overview
Motsusis Shrine is a Shrine of Light hidden at the centre of the South Lomei Labyrinth in the Gerudo region. Unlike a conventional shrine, it contains no internal puzzle or combat challenge. The real trial is reaching the shrine through the maze’s gloomy, partially buried passages.
The shrine is therefore best understood as the reward chamber at the end of the Surface section of the South Lomei labyrinth, rather than as an isolated location in the open desert. Reaching it also brings you into the central room used by the wider South Lomei Prophecy sequence. That larger activity continues into the Sky and Depths, but those areas are separate from Motsusis Shrine itself.
Motsusis Shrine proper
Motsusis Shrine is the green, glowing Shrine of Light located in the innermost room of the Surface-level South Lomei Labyrinth. The shrine itself consists of a short, empty chamber with:
The shrine interior is not the maze. It is the final reward space reached after navigating the maze.
South Lomei Labyrinth
The labyrinth is the relevant surrounding area for access purposes. It occupies a large stone maze in the Gerudo region and contains several distinct features:
The Sky labyrinth and Depths section are not part of Motsusis Shrine, although they are directly connected to the wider South Lomei activity. The Depths counterpart is Sisustom Lightroot, while the Sky portion leads to the upper stages of the labyrinth challenge.
Nearby but separate locations
The following should not be treated as part of the shrine:
---
Nearby but separate locations
| Name | Details |
|---|---|
| Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower | a useful launch point, but not within the labyrinth. |
| Sisustom Lightroot | the Depths counterpart beneath the shrine area, not an alternate entrance to the shrine itself. |
| South Lomei Labyrinth Sky section | a separate map-layer challenge. |
| South Lomei Labyrinth Depths section | a separate area containing a Flux Construct encounter and later rewards. |
| Gerudo Desert settlements and ruins | geographically nearby in the broad regional sense, but not subareas of the shrine or labyrinth. |
Recommended preparation
The labyrinth can be reached early, but the route is more comfortable if you bring:
The surface labyrinth contains Gloom in parts of its route. Guides recommend using Gloom-resistant equipment or carrying meals that restore hearts lost to Gloom. Sundelions and Sun Pumpkins are useful ingredients for recovery meals, although neither is strictly required if you navigate carefully.
Route from Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower
The labyrinth entrance is commonly listed around (-1794, -3333, 0072), while the shrine lies farther inside, around (-1795, -3485, 0045). These are approximate map-guide coordinates rather than two points that should be confused with one another.
The most practical long-distance route is
- 01Travel to Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower.
- 02Launch from the tower and glide south-east towards the South Lomei Labyrinth.
- 03Land near the northern approach or entrance to the labyrinth.
- 04Read the note near the campsite at the entrance.
- 05Enter the maze and follow the trail of Acorns and Chickaloo Tree Nuts.
- 06Clear or bypass sand-filled sections.
- 07Continue towards the centre of the maze.
- 08Enter the room containing Motsusis Shrine.
Following the trail
The Surface maze has already been effectively marked for you by a trail of:
Follow these rather than attempting to solve the maze by keeping one hand against a wall. The trail is the intended route and is much quicker.
If you lose sight of the next marker:
Sand and Gloom
Some passages are partly obstructed by sand dunes. Tulin’s gust can clear these areas and is the most convenient method when available. If Tulin is not yet active, look for an alternative route around the obstruction or use environmental tools and attacks that can move loose sand.
Gloom is more dangerous than ordinary darkness because it temporarily reduces Link’s maximum health. Avoid standing in it unnecessarily. If you lose hearts to Gloom, retreat to safe ground before continuing, or use a meal prepared to restore damaged maximum hearts.

Shrine interior
Motsusis Shrine is a Rauru’s Blessing shrine. There is no puzzle to solve once you enter.
Steps
The chest is positioned near the centre of the shrine’s main platform. The Light of Blessing is awarded at the altar rather than from the chest.
Steps
- 01Walk straight into the shrine chamber.
- 02Open the stone chest on the central platform.
- 03Collect the Large Zonai Charge.
- 04Continue to the altar at the far end.
- 05Examine the terminal in front of the Rauru and Sonia statue.
- 06Receive the Light of Blessing.
- 07Leave or use the shrine as a fast-travel point.
Rewards and uses
A Large Zonai Charge provides a substantial amount of Zonai energy when used with Zonai devices. It is particularly useful for longer flights, vehicles, or other device constructions, although the item is fixed shrine treasure rather than a random drop.
The Light of Blessing can be exchanged at a Goddess Statue. Four Lights of Blessing can be traded for either a Heart Container or a Stamina Vessel.

Rewards and uses
| Reward or function | Details |
|---|---|
| Large Zonai Charge | Found in the shrine chest |
| Light of Blessing | Awarded for completing the shrine |
| Fast-travel point | Unlocked once the shrine is activated |
| Map registration | The shrine becomes visible and usable on the Surface map |
Spoiler warningSpoilers
The following section discusses the wider South Lomei activity beyond the shrine.
The room containing Motsusis Shrine is not only a reward room. It also contains important features for the South Lomei Prophecy:
The shrine can be completed without finishing the wider prophecy. Conversely, reaching the shrine does not by itself complete the larger South Lomei sequence.
The central chamber functions as a junction between activities:
The South Lomei Prophecy ultimately involves a Flux Construct III encounter in the Depths and rewards Link with the Evil Spirit Mask, but that reward belongs to the wider activity, not to Motsusis Shrine.
Spoiler warning: stepsSpoilers
- 01The Surface maze leads to Motsusis Shrine.
- 02The dragon-ring terminal begins or advances the prophecy sequence.
- 03The chasm provides access to the corresponding Depths area.
- 04Later stages involve the Sky and Depths versions of South Lomei Labyrinth.
Recommended order
For a first visit, a sensible order is:
Completing the shrine first is useful because it provides a permanent fast-travel point at the maze’s centre.
---
The following entries are the verified named locations directly associated with the shrine or its immediate connected activity. Broader Gerudo-region locations are excluded unless they function as practical access points or direct counterparts.
Recommended order: steps
- 01Navigate the Surface labyrinth.
- 02Activate and complete Motsusis Shrine.
- 03Collect the Large Zonai Charge.
- 04Inspect the central room.
- 05Activate the dragon-ring terminal if you want to begin the South Lomei Prophecy.
- 06Return later for the Sky and Depths sections if you are not yet equipped for them.
Shrine
South Lomei Surface area
The entrance and central room are descriptive subareas rather than separate map names in every reference. They are included here to distinguish the route into the labyrinth from the shrine chamber itself.
Connected map-layer locations
The Sky and Depths sections are connected to the same wider labyrinth complex but are not part of Motsusis Shrine proper.
Connected map-layer locations
Characters and ordinary NPCs
No named resident, shopkeeper, quest-giver or permanent settlement NPC is documented as living inside Motsusis Shrine. The note and campsite at the labyrinth entrance are environmental route markers rather than a confirmed named character residence. The shrine is primarily a traversal reward location.
Activities

Activities
Inside the shrine
Motsusis Shrine has no combat encounter and no boss. Its challenge has already been completed outside, in the labyrinth.
In the surrounding labyrinth
The wider South Lomei sequence has a Flux Construct III, but that encounter is associated with the Depths stage rather than the shrine interior. It should not be listed as a boss of Motsusis Shrine.
---
For players who want to combine the shrine with the surrounding content:
In the surrounding labyrinth: steps
- 01Launch from Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower.
- 02Glide to the northern side of South Lomei Labyrinth.
- 03Read the note by the entrance campsite.
- 04Follow the Acorn and Chickaloo Tree Nut trail.
- 05Use Tulin to clear sand where necessary.
- 06Avoid standing in Gloom and use Brightbloom Seeds in dark passages.
- 07Enter the centre of the labyrinth.
- 08Activate Motsusis Shrine immediately.
- 09Open the chest for the Large Zonai Charge.
- 10Claim the Light of Blessing.
- 11Inspect the dragon-ring terminal.
- 12Decide whether to continue into the South Lomei Prophecy or leave using the newly activated fast-travel point.
Quick checklist
---
The maze is deliberately signposted
The Acorns and Chickaloo Tree Nuts are not random decoration. They provide the intended route through the Surface labyrinth. If you are repeatedly reaching dead ends, you have probably missed the next marker rather than encountered a puzzle requiring a new ability.
The shrine reward is separate from the prophecy reward
Motsusis Shrine gives the normal Rauru’s Blessing rewards:
The Evil Spirit Mask is not hidden inside the shrine. It is tied to the larger South Lomei Prophecy and its later map-layer challenges.
The Depths counterpart is not another shrine
Sisustom Lightroot corresponds geographically with Motsusis Shrine, but it is a Lightroot, not a second Shrine of Light. Activating it illuminates the surrounding Depths and provides its own fast-travel function.
---
Is Motsusis Shrine a puzzle shrine?
No. It is a Rauru’s Blessing shrine. The puzzle is the journey through South Lomei Labyrinth.
Where is Motsusis Shrine?
It is in the centre of South Lomei Labyrinth in the Gerudo region, approximately at (-1795, -3485, 0045).
What is inside the chest?
A Large Zonai Charge.
What is the shrine’s trial name?
Rauru’s Blessing.
Do I need to complete the South Lomei Prophecy first?
No. You can reach and complete Motsusis Shrine without completing the wider prophecy. The prophecy continues from the central labyrinth chamber.
Is the Flux Construct III inside Motsusis Shrine?
No. The shrine contains no boss. The Flux Construct III belongs to the Depths stage of the wider South Lomei activity.
Can I fast-travel to the shrine?
Yes. Once you activate the shrine, it becomes a permanent fast-travel location.
Is Motsusis Shrine in the Gerudo Desert or Gerudo Highlands?
Guide sources classify it slightly differently depending on regional map conventions. It is consistently located in the South Lomei Labyrinth within the broad Gerudo area, near the desert-highlands transition. For navigation, the labyrinth name and coordinates are more useful than relying on the regional label alone.
