Overview
Ganos Shrine is a small but easily overlooked Shrine of Light in the Tabantha Sky Archipelago. Unlike a conventional puzzle shrine, its main challenge takes place outside the shrine itself. Link must follow a green beam to a nearby sky island, deal with a Flux Construct III, recover the shrine’s crystal and transport it back using a Zonai flying machine.
Once the crystal is returned, Ganos Shrine becomes a Rauru’s Blessing shrine. The interior contains no puzzle or combat challenge. There is one chest containing a Diamond, followed by the altar that awards the Light of Blessing.
The location is therefore best understood as a small connected group of sky-island spaces rather than only the shrine platform:
These spaces are all part of the shrine quest, but they are not separate named settlements, dungeons or permanent facilities.
Introduction
- 01The shrine island, where Ganos Shrine stands.
- 02The nearby island containing the Flux Construct III and crystal.
- 03The smaller southern or south-western platform containing Zonai devices used to build the return aircraft.
Location and boundaries
Ganos Shrine is on the southernmost island of the Tabantha Sky Archipelago, high above the Tabantha Frontier. It should not be grouped with the nearby surface locations of Tabantha Frontier, Hebra or the Forgotten Temple. Those are neighbouring regional areas, but they are not part of the shrine’s immediate location.
The shrine itself stands on a compact, angular floating island. The island is sometimes described as X-shaped because of its intersecting platforms and narrow extensions. The quest area extends beyond this first island:
Shrine island
This is the island containing Ganos Shrine. Before the quest is completed, the shrine’s green terminal is visible, but the entrance is not active. Examining it reveals the shrine quest and creates the beam pointing towards the crystal’s location.
The shrine island has no settlement facilities, shops or named inhabitants. Its main function is to serve as the quest’s starting and ending point.
Flux Construct island
The beam leads to a larger nearby island with a broad circular platform. A Flux Construct III patrols this area, with the green shrine crystal attached to its body. This is the combat section of the quest.
The island is not a permanent dungeon or named subregion in its own right. It is a quest location within the wider Tabantha Sky Archipelago.
Device platform
A smaller adjoining or nearby platform contains Zonai devices and construction materials. Guides commonly identify this as the southern or south-western extension of the island group. It provides the practical means of transporting the crystal back to the shrine island.
The exact arrangement may be easier to recognise from the available devices than from the platform’s shape. Look for Fans, Batteries, a Control Stick and a large flat building surface or grate.
Access and routes
Recommended approach from the surface
The most straightforward route is to launch from Lindor’s Brow Skyview Tower and glide towards the Tabantha Sky Archipelago. Another practical option is to use the nearby Mayasiar Shrine as a launch or fast-travel point, then glide towards Ganos Shrine. Game8 specifically identifies Mayasiar Shrine as a convenient starting point for reaching the Ganos area.
You should prepare for a long sky journey. Useful preparations include:
The shrine can be approached from several directions, but the important point is to land safely on the shrine island rather than glide directly towards the lower crystal island. Once the shrine terminal has been examined, the quest beam provides the correct route.
Fast-travel route after discovery
After examining the inactive shrine, Ganos Shrine becomes a useful fast-travel point even before it is completed. You can return later with more battery capacity, better weapons or a different approach to the Flux Construct.
This is particularly useful if the first aircraft attempt fails. The quest does not require you to complete every stage in one uninterrupted attempt.

Walkthrough: The Tabantha Sky Crystal
1. Examine Ganos Shrine
Land on the shrine island and interact with the green terminal outside Ganos Shrine. The shrine quest The Tabantha Sky Crystal begins, and a green beam points to the crystal’s location.
The shrine itself cannot be completed until the crystal is brought back.
2. Follow the beam to the lower island
Glide from the shrine island towards the large island indicated by the beam. The destination contains the Flux Construct III.
Aim for the broad circular platform. If you are short on stamina, use Tulin’s Gust when available, deploy a paraglider-restoring meal or land briefly on an intermediate platform.
3. Recover the crystal
The crystal is attached to the Flux Construct III. The normal approach is to defeat the construct, then use Ultrahand to detach and carry the green crystal away.
The Flux Construct III can be damaged by targeting its glowing weak block. This block may move between parts of the construct as the fight progresses. The boss can also rearrange its body into different forms, including a large humanoid shape and airborne or block-based configurations.
One source notes that it may be possible to take the crystal without completely defeating the construct, but defeating the Flux Construct III is the reliable and intended method for making the area safe.
4. Carry the crystal to the device platform
Once the crystal is free, carry it towards the smaller platform containing the Zonai devices. Do not leave it on the boss arena if you intend to build the aircraft elsewhere.
The crystal is a quest object rather than an ordinary loose item. It can be moved with Ultrahand and attached to a vehicle.
5. Build or repair the aircraft
The device platform contains materials for a flying machine. Existing guides describe Fans, Batteries and a Control Stick, with a prepared aircraft or useful construction base already available.
If the existing craft is still intact, attach the crystal to a secure central part. If it has been damaged or destroyed, build a replacement using the available devices.
You do not need an elaborate aircraft. The shrine island is close enough that the main challenge is gaining altitude and landing accurately, not crossing a huge distance.
6. Fly back to Ganos Shrine
Pilot the aircraft towards the shrine island. The shrine is positioned above the lower platform, so conserve power and gain height before turning towards it.
A common mistake is to fly directly upwards until the aircraft runs out of battery. Instead:
You can also land on the shrine island, remove the crystal from the machine and walk it to the shrine entrance.
7. Return the crystal
Bring the green crystal to Ganos Shrine. The entrance activates and the shrine quest concludes. The shrine is now permanently available as a fast-travel location.
6. Fly back to Ganos Shrine
- 01Build height steadily.
- 02Turn towards the shrine island before the Energy Cell is nearly empty.
- 03Approach from the side with the widest landing area.
- 04If necessary, detach the crystal near the shrine and carry it the final distance.
Shrine interior: Rauru’s Blessing
Ganos Shrine contains no internal puzzle. Once the quest has been completed, enter and walk forward along the simple central path.
The interior consists of a small void-like chamber with raised platforms and a chest placed ahead of the entrance. The chest contains a Diamond. After collecting it, continue to the altar and examine the terminal in front of the Rauru and Sonia statue to receive the Light of Blessing.
Interior rewards
There are no hidden chests, combat rooms or secondary puzzle chambers reported for the completed shrine.
Interior rewards
| Location | Reward | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Central interior platform | Diamond | One chest |
| Altar at the end of the shrine | Light of Blessing | Completes the shrine |
Items and collectibles
Diamond
The Diamond is in the shrine’s only treasure chest. It is fixed content, not a random drop. The chest is in the central part of the short shrine interior and is difficult to miss once the entrance has been activated.
Diamonds can be sold for Rupees or used as valuable fuse materials. If you are collecting shrine treasure rather than maximising immediate income, it is generally sensible to leave the Diamond in your inventory until you have decided whether to sell or use it.
Light of Blessing
The Light of Blessing is awarded at the altar after the chest has been opened. Four Lights of Blessing can be exchanged at a Goddess Statue for either a Heart Container or a Stamina Vessel.
The shrine does not award an armour piece, weapon, bow, shield or unique quest item.
Crystal
The green shrine crystal is a quest object. It is not a general collectible and does not remain as a separate reward after the shrine is activated.
Enemies and combat
Flux Construct III
The Flux Construct III is the only named enemy associated with the quest area. It occupies the lower island marked by the green beam.
This is a stronger encounter than a Flux Construct I or II, so players with weak early-game equipment may find the fight more demanding than the shrine interior suggests. However, the fight is optional in the narrow tactical sense because the immediate objective is to obtain the crystal. The safest and most dependable strategy is still to defeat the construct before transporting the crystal.
The boss drops materials after defeat, including its core and construct-related parts. These can be fused to weapons, although the exact drops are separate from the fixed Diamond reward inside Ganos Shrine.
Ordinary enemies
No additional named enemies or regular enemy camps are verified as part of the shrine’s immediate quest area. The sky islands around Tabantha may contain other encounters, but those should not be treated as Ganos Shrine content without a direct connection to the shrine quest.
Named directory: characters, enemies and objects
Characters and NPCs
There are no ordinary residents, merchants, travelling traders, guards or named quest-givers living at the Ganos Shrine islands.
Quest objects and rewards
The “Mysterious Voice” is associated with the shrine activation sequence rather than being a visible resident of the area.
Zonai devices and facilities
The device platform is not a shop or a permanent manufacturing station. It is a quest-support area containing Zonai devices that make the crystal transport possible.
Verified practical equipment
The available devices should not be confused with a Device Dispenser. No Device Dispenser, forge, stable, inn, shop or other service facility is part of the Ganos Shrine area.
The devices can usually be supplemented with Link’s own inventory. If you have unlocked Autobuild, a saved flying-machine design can make the return trip easier, but Autobuild is not required.
Suggested exploration routes
Route A: direct shrine completion
This is the efficient route for players who only want the shrine reward.
Route B: preparation-first route
Use this route if your battery or stamina is limited.
Route C: exploration and return route
After completing Ganos Shrine, use it as a launch point for the wider Tabantha Sky Archipelago. The shrine is useful for sky exploration because it provides a high-altitude fast-travel destination in western Hyrule. However, nearby islands that do not form part of The Tabantha Sky Crystal should be treated as separate locations rather than automatically included in the shrine’s directory.
Route A: direct shrine completion
- 01Launch from Lindor’s Brow Skyview Tower or travel to Mayasiar Shrine.
- 02Glide to Ganos Shrine.
- 03Activate the shrine terminal.
- 04Follow the beam to the Flux Construct III.
- 05Defeat the construct and collect the crystal.
- 06Move to the device platform.
- 07Build or repair the aircraft.
- 08Fly back to Ganos Shrine.
- 09Open the Diamond chest.
- 10Collect the Light of Blessing.
Route B: preparation-first route
- 01Unlock Lindor’s Brow Skyview Tower.
- 02Improve stamina or prepare stamina-restoring food.
- 03Increase Energy Cell capacity if possible.
- 04Carry a few Zonai Charges.
- 05Bring a strong two-handed weapon or a weapon with a useful fused material.
- 06Reach the shrine and activate the quest.
- 07Fight the Flux Construct III.
- 08Use the local aircraft materials, adding your own Batteries if necessary.
- 09Return to the shrine and complete the interior.
Hazards and common mistakes
Running out of battery
The most common problem is attempting to climb vertically with an underdeveloped Energy Cell. Attach extra Batteries or use Zonai Charges before take-off.
Landing too far from the shrine
Do not assume the aircraft must touch the exact shrine entrance. It is enough to land on the shrine island, detach the crystal and carry it the rest of the way.
Losing the crystal
If the aircraft crashes, look around the impact area before rebuilding. The crystal is usually recoverable with Ultrahand unless it has fallen onto a lower platform.
Falling between islands
Use the paraglider early rather than waiting until the last moment. The platforms are separated by open sky, and a failed jump can force a long recovery route.
Fighting the construct without a plan
The Flux Construct III’s glowing weak point is the priority. Attacking its ordinary blocks wastes durability and time. Ultrahand is especially valuable because it can pull the target block away from the construct.
Leaving the quest unfinished
Finding the shrine and entering its general area is not enough. The shrine remains inactive until the crystal has been returned.
Progression changes and missability
There is no reported permanent missability trigger for the shrine, chest or Light of Blessing. The quest can be completed later, and failure of the aircraft does not permanently remove the crystal.
The Flux Construct III’s combat rewards are separate from the shrine’s fixed rewards. Any materials dropped by the construct should not be confused with the Diamond chest reward.
Ganos Shrine has a simple progression state
| State | What is available |
|---|---|
| Shrine not discovered | The island may appear unmarked |
| Shrine discovered but inactive | Terminal can be examined; quest begins |
| Crystal quest active | Beam leads to the Flux Construct III |
| Crystal returned | Shrine entrance opens |
| Shrine completed | Diamond and Light of Blessing collected; fast travel remains available |
Lore and series context
Ganos Shrine is a Tears of the Kingdom Shrine of Light and has no known appearance in Breath of the Wild. Its internal trial is presented as Rauru’s Blessing, a category used for shrines where the actual challenge is reaching or unlocking the shrine rather than solving an interior puzzle.
The Ganos challenge follows the same broad structure as other crystal shrines in the game: the shrine’s entrance is incomplete, a crystal is placed elsewhere, and the player must solve an overworld traversal problem to restore access. Here, the emphasis is on sky-island navigation, Ultrahand construction and battery management.
The completed shrine’s altar features the familiar Rauru and Sonia imagery associated with the Shrine of Light system. The shrine’s story text frames the Light of Blessing as a means of cleansing Link from the effects of darkness.
