Overview

Narusis Lightroot is a single Lightroot in the Hebra Mountains Depths, in the north-western Depths beneath the region around Sisuran Shrine. It is not the name of a broad underground province, mine complex or settlement. The location’s effective scope is the Lightroot itself and its immediate surroundings. Nearby places such as Muotue Lightroot, Mu-ufatur Lightroot, Hebra Canyon Mine and the eastern Colgera arena are connected points of interest, but they are separate locations rather than subareas of Narusis Lightroot.

Activating Narusis Lightroot illuminates the surrounding Depths map, removes the normal gloom penalty while Link stands beneath its light and unlocks the location as a travel point. Its surface counterpart is Sisuran Shrine, following the standard Lightroot naming pattern in which the shrine’s name is reversed to form the Lightroot’s name.

Location and boundaries

Narusis Lightroot stands in the open Hebra Mountains Depths rather than inside a named mine, village or labyrinth. The wider Hebra Mountains Depths include a series of Lightroots, mines, lavafalls, skeletons and other landmarks. Regional listings place Narusis alongside Ikatoayam, Kato, Mu-ufatur, Muihcoro, Muotue, Nupisoyuat and So-oaw Lightroots, among others.

For this guide, the following are neighbouring connections, not subareas of Narusis Lightroot:

There is no evidence of a separate “Narusis area” containing its own businesses, residents, roads or internal districts. The Lightroot is best treated as a navigation and checkpoint location within the wider Hebra Mountains Depths.

Surface counterpart: Sisuran Shrine

The shrine directly associated with Narusis Lightroot is Sisuran Shrine. The relationship is useful when searching for the Lightroot: if you have found Sisuran Shrine on the surface, switch to the Depths map and inspect the same position below it. Conversely, if Narusis Lightroot is already active, its position identifies the approximate surface location of Sisuran Shrine.

The shrine and the Lightroot are separate places in separate map layers. Completing Sisuran Shrine does not activate Narusis Lightroot, and activating Narusis Lightroot does not complete the shrine. They are linked geographically, not functionally.

What activating Narusis Lightroot does

Approach the glowing root and interact with its central node. Once activated, Narusis Lightroot:

The activation is permanent for that save file. There is no known missability condition, quest requirement or time-limited state associated with this Lightroot.

What activating Narusis Lightroot does: steps

  1. 01
    Illuminates the nearby Depths.
  2. 02
Reveals the corresponding section of the Depths map.
  3. 03
    Becomes a fast-travel destination.
  4. 04
Provides safe light beneath the root, where gloom-damaged maximum hearts can recover in the normal way associated with Lightroots.

Access and recommended routes

Route from another Lightroot

The most practical underground approach is to travel from one of the neighbouring Hebra Lightroots, especially Muotue Lightroot or Mu-ufatur Lightroot. The surrounding Depths are dark until nearby roots have been activated, so prepare a supply of Brightbloom Seeds or use a vehicle fitted with a light source if you are travelling before the regional map has been revealed.

Map references consistently place Narusis east of Muotue Lightroot.

Route from the surface

Because Narusis Lightroot corresponds to Sisuran Shrine, the surface shrine is the most useful positional clue. However, the shrine itself is not a guaranteed entrance to the Depths. To reach Narusis from above, Link must enter the Depths through a suitable chasm elsewhere and travel underground, unless a separate nearby entrance is identified during exploration.

This shrine-to-Lightroot alignment is a general game mechanic rather than a special property unique to Narusis.

Route from another Lightroot: A cautious route is

  1. 01
Travel to Muotue Lightroot or Mu-ufatur Lightroot.
  2. 02
Open the Depths map and place a marker on Narusis Lightroot at roughly −2558, 3354, −0690.
  3. 03
Move towards the marker while following the broad open terrain rather than trying to climb every sheer wall.
  4. 04
Use Brightbloom Seeds to reveal cliffs, gloom pools and enemy silhouettes.
  5. 05
Activate Narusis Lightroot as soon as it comes into view.
  6. 06
Use it as the new checkpoint before exploring the eastern arena or returning towards the mines.

Route from the surface: A reliable general method is

  1. 01
Find or activate Sisuran Shrine on the surface.
  2. 02
Mark its position on the map.
  3. 03
Locate a Hebra chasm that drops into the Depths.
  4. 04
Glide down and activate the nearest available Lightroot.
  5. 05
Continue across the Hebra Mountains Depths towards the matching position below Sisuran Shrine.

Nearby connections

Muotue Lightroot

Muotue Lightroot lies to the south-west and is one of the most useful starting points for reaching Narusis. It is associated with the Hebra Mountains Depths and is located around the Goflam’s Lavafalls area. The distance between the two roots makes them useful successive checkpoints during a regional mapping run.

Mu-ufatur Lightroot

Mu-ufatur Lightroot is another nearby regional root, positioned towards the west or north-west of Narusis. It provides an alternate approach if the terrain from Muotue is blocked by cliffs, gloom or enemy encounters.

Hebra Canyon Mine

Hebra Canyon Mine is listed south-west of Narusis Lightroot. It is a separate mine location containing its own exploration and loot, including a reported Sea-Breeze Boomerang placement in regional Depths walkthrough material. Do not treat the mine as part of Narusis Lightroot’s inventory.

Colgera arena

An underground Colgera arena lies east of Narusis Lightroot. After the Wind Temple’s Colgera has been defeated, additional Colgera encounters can be found in several Depths arenas, including the one east of Narusis. This is a separate combat landmark, not a boss encounter at the Lightroot itself.

Enemies and hazards

No unique enemy spawn is verified as belonging directly to the Lightroot platform. The surrounding Hebra Mountains Depths can still contain the ordinary hazards of the region:

The Lightroot’s illumination makes the immediate area safer to navigate, but it does not clear every distant patch of darkness or remove gloom throughout the wider region.

Items, collectibles and facilities

Narusis Lightroot itself is a facility rather than a treasure dungeon. The verified functions are:

No shop, forge, inn, stable, named resident, quest giver or unique fixed treasure is verified at the Lightroot itself. Nearby mines and combat arenas have their own loot tables and encounters, so rewards found during a wider expedition should be attributed to those separate locations rather than to Narusis Lightroot.

Suggested exploration route

For a Hebra Depths mapping trip, the following order is practical:

Suggested exploration route: steps

  1. 01
    Activate Muotue Lightroot.
  2. 02
Explore around Goflam’s Lavafalls if you need a visible landmark.
  3. 03
Travel north-east or east towards Narusis Lightroot.
  4. 04
Activate Narusis and use it as a fast-travel checkpoint.
  5. 05
Continue east only if you are prepared for the nearby Colgera encounter.
  6. 06
Return west towards Mu-ufatur Lightroot and Hebra Canyon Mine.
  7. 07
Compare the activated roots with the surface shrines to identify any remaining gaps in the Hebra Mountains Depths map.
